The 65th International Mathematical Olympiad was held from July 11 to 22 in the United Kingdom, with 109 delegations from 109 countries and territories and 609 contestants participating. The contestants went through 2 official competition days, with a time of 4.5 hours/day.

According to the regulations, the Organizing Committee officially awards prizes to 50% of the participating contestants. In addition, the Organizing Committee awards certificates of merit to students who achieve the maximum score for a math problem.

The Ministry of Education and Training said that this year's exam had a challenging structure for participating students, including Vietnamese students, with two combination problems, one at an average level and one at a difficult level. Despite certain difficulties in both the exam and the health of some students participating in the exam, the Vietnamese student delegation achieved good results and was highly appreciated in the region. This result continues to affirm the right direction in the work of discovering, selecting, nurturing and training excellent students.

The IMO 2024 Organizing Committee will hold the closing ceremony and awards ceremony on 21 July, starting at 4pm (UK time).
