On March 20, Dong A University (Da Nang) organized the Vietnam - Japan cultural exchange program in 2025 with many activities. This is the 10th annual program at Dong A University, aiming to celebrate the 52nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973 - 2025).
The program was attended by the Consul General of Japan in Da Nang, the Board of Directors of Dong A University and more than 500 high school students in the area, along with an art troupe from Tokyo (Japan).
In his opening speech, Japanese Consul General in Da Nang Mori Takero acknowledged the perseverance of Dong A University in organizing the Vietnam - Japan Cultural Exchange Program for the 10th year; hoping that through the program, Da Nang students will somehow see the beauty of Japan and the Vietnam - Japan relationship.

The program has many cultural and artistic exchange activities between Vietnam and Japan, for students to learn about Japanese culture, people and language. The Japanese - Vietnamese cultural space is vividly recreated with impressive performances. Among them is a calligraphy performance by artist Sakamoto Koichi - Head of the art troupe from Japan.
This year, the Japanese art troupe brought 14 performances imbued with Japanese culture. In addition to performing the art of large-scale calligraphy on paper, there was also a reenactment of the famous Naruto animation; introduction and performance of wearing Japanese kimono; Ikebana flower art; Japanese painting art...
The 2025 Vietnam - Japan Cultural Exchange Program at Dong A University is also bustling with folk games imbued with Vietnamese - Japanese traditions such as Yabusame archery, paper fishing (Kingyo Sukui), throwing balls into baskets, hopscotch, throwing rings into poles... which students are excited to learn and participate in.
In addition to 14 booths introducing Vietnamese - Japanese culinary culture and small folk games, the experience of wearing Japanese costumes and taking photos in a Japanese space, there is also a festival space with the unique Japanese Nagashi Somen Bamboo Noodle Festival; an elaborate Cosplay Festival (character dressing) with the participation of many Japanese students, artists and young people who love Japanese culture in Da Nang.
The flashmob contest with the theme "Fusion of cultures - Cultural exchange" attracted more than 300 students from 8 high schools to participate in 9 impressive performances, demonstrating the creative combination of Vietnamese - Japanese cultural elements in music, costumes and choreography...
"We see the strong impact of this event on students, especially the additional channel for them to have the opportunity to learn and explore Japanese culture, people and language. This has contributed significantly to strengthening the cooperative and friendly relationship between Vietnam and Japan," shared Dr. Ngo Quang Vinh - Vice President of Dong A University.
On this occasion, 16 scholarships, worth 3 - 5 million VND each, were awarded to students majoring in Tourism, Automotive Engineering Technology, Nursing and Japanese Language to participate in a 1-year internship program in Japan from the second quarter of 2025.
