'Feel guilty for not using Tuan Hai more'
The player who shone the most in the second leg of the 2024 AFF Cup final between Vietnam and Thailand was none other than Tuan Hai. He scored the opening goal and had an “assist” for the opposing team’s defender to score an own goal. However, the final match of the tournament was the first match in which Tuan Hai was in the starting lineup.

Tuan Hai was the player who opened the score in the second leg of the final very early.
“Yesterday was the first match I played from the start so I had to try my best. Looking back at this goal, I was very emotional, this was the first time I scored in a final match for the Vietnamese team,” Tuan Hai shared on the show.
Talking about "keeping" Tuan Hai too close to the field, only letting him play in the final match, coach Kim Sang-sik explained: "Recently, I always wanted to come up with reasonable tactics for each match. I feel very guilty about not letting Tuan Hai play regularly. But I know that Tuan Hai is always well-prepared, he is always ready. He always practices very hard, even when he is alone. Therefore, in the last match, I gave Tuan Hai a chance in the final match. And I thought Tuan Hai would do something, would create a special effect for the final match. And he did it," Mr. Kim shared.
Hai Long was the first and last scorer for the Vietnamese team at the 2024 AFF Cup. He called this his destiny: "I think to have today, not just me, everyone has to make an effort."

About Dinh Trieu - the "late blooming talent" of Vietnamese football, he said he was always ready for today.

Dinh Trieu - late blooming talent
Dinh Trieu, born in 1991 in Thai Binh, was a promising young goalkeeper of Vietnamese football, participating in the national U.19 team at the U.19 Asian finals in 2010. In 2014, due to difficult family circumstances, he temporarily stopped his football career to focus on studying and working as a security guard.
In 2017, he became a student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport and participated in the school's football tournaments. During his studies, he was introduced to the coach of Binh Phuoc Club. After suspending his studies, he signed a 2-year contract with this club and played in the First Division in 2020. After the contract expired, Dinh Trieu sought a new challenge in the V-League, trying out at Hai Phong Club. Despite initial difficulties, with the encouragement of his family, he persevered and was finally signed a contract, starting to play in the highest professional football environment in Vietnam at the age of 31 - quite late compared to the general level. And now, at the age of 33, he has become the best goalkeeper of the AFF Cup 2024.
