TPO - Hanoi City aims to renovate 45 parks and flower gardens and build 9 new parks by 2025, however, the progress of the projects is still slow, many parks are still vacant land.
The Hanoi Department of Construction has just reported on the implementation of the Hanoi People's Committee's plan to renovate and upgrade parks and flower gardens in the 2021-2025 period. Accordingly, the city level will invest in renovating 4 parks (Bach Thao, Thu Le, Thong Nhat, Hoa Binh); the district level will renovate 41 parks and flower gardens using district budget funds. |
Thong Nhat Park (Dong Da District) was built a long time ago in Hanoi, about 50 hectares wide. Located in a prime location, bordering 4 streets and has Bay Mau Lake in the center of the park. |
During its decades of operation, Thong Nhat Park has undergone many renovations. In December 2022, following the policy of Hanoi City, Thong Nhat Park was piloted to lower a 400m-long section of the fence, becoming an "open" park connecting with the pedestrian space of Tran Nhan Tong Street and its vicinity. |
Thu Le Park (Ba Dinh District) has been in operation for nearly 50 years, with an area of over 28 hectares, of which 6 hectares is lake area, the rest is natural land, the campus is arranged for zoo and amusement areas. It is noted that at the park, many railings and infrastructure are degraded. |
With a total area of up to 28 hectares, Thu Le Park is a place to preserve and nurture hundreds of different animal species, however, the living environment of the animals here is not guaranteed. Many items are degraded, animal cages are degraded, and some places give off an unpleasant smell. |
The Botanical Garden (Ba Dinh District) has an area of over 10 hectares, many items are damaged and degraded over time, causing loss of aesthetics and affecting the space used by people. |
The sidewalk is degraded, the land along the lake shore is partly subsided, the tiles on the lake shore are uneven, not only causing an unsightly appearance but also not ensuring safety for people walking in the campus. |
Hoa Binh Park is located on Pham Van Dong Street (Bac Tu Liem District). The park has a total investment of 282 billion VND (of which 72 billion VND is for site clearance) and was inaugurated in October 2010 to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi. |
This was also considered the most modern park in the capital when it was first completed. However, nowadays, Hoa Binh Park is often deserted. |
Nghia Do Park (Cau Giay District) with an area of 42,000m2 is considered one of the green lungs of the city. At one time, Nghia Do Park was the pride of the people in the district, because the green tree system as well as the children's playground were invested in a systematic and quality manner. |
Many items of Nghia Do Park have degraded over time. |
The Astronomy Park (Ha Dong District) has an area of over 12 hectares, with an investment capital of 260 billion VND. After nearly 3 years of construction, the project was completed in 2020. However, it was not until recently that the park was put into use. |
The items in the park include: Bach Hop Thuy Lake, 6 hectares wide, and many items built on the theme of astronomy combined with trees and lakes such as: Zodiac Square, Milky Way Garden, UFO Zone, alien square, black hole pool... |
The Astronomy Park has been temporarily handed over to Ha Dong district to open before Lunar New Year 2024. The official acceptance and handover work has not been carried out. |
Of the 9 new construction projects, Chu Van An Park (40ha, Thanh Tri district) has not yet been implemented due to difficulties in site clearance. |
The Chu Van An Park project is expected to become a “green lung” bringing fresh air to residents in the Southwest area of Hanoi. However, after 8 years of planning announcement, Chu Van An Park is still just a large, messy lawn... |
Ha Dong district's cultural, entertainment and sports park has remained an empty lot for many years. |
