A series of famous people had their youtube channels hacked

Recently, a series of social media channels of artists, celebrities, and content creators were attacked by hackers.

A series of celebrity channels were hacked youtube channel.

Specifically, the MixiGaming youtube channel (Phung Thanh Do) was hacked and controlled. The hacker then hid all video content and used this channel to livestream cryptocurrency advertising content.

The YouTube channel Quang Linh Vlogs also suddenly changed its name to a cryptocurrency, making the online community skeptical. On Pham Quang Linh's Facebook page with a blue tick, a post appeared announcing that 3 YouTube accounts belonging to the Quang Linh Vlogs channel system had been hacked.

Currently, Phung Thanh Do's YouTube channel MixiGaming has been restored after being hacked twice.

Hackers taking control of a celebrity’s social media account can have serious consequences. Typically, they can access personal information to use for fraudulent purposes or directly affect their honor, reputation and privacy. The subject can also use the account to send scam messages or malicious links to the celebrity’s friends list.

In response to the above information, the Department of Information Security (Ministry of Information and Communications) recommends that users be extremely careful in securing their accounts and personal information. Content creators should be careful with "stream keys" (live event codes) to avoid being exposed and creating opportunities for hackers. Not only celebrities, content creators or influencers, but ordinary users also need to take steps to strictly manage their accounts. People should only use copyrighted software. Be careful with suspicious emails and links, stay away from pirated software and "cracked" (unlocked) versions. Do not provide sensitive personal information or login information via text messages or emails; do not log into your account on a strange device. Form the habit of regularly changing your password, setting strong passwords, and 2-step authentication.

In addition, users should also be wary of messages asking to borrow money not only from strangers but also from acquaintances and family members. When there is a request to borrow or transfer money to an account via social networks, people should use other authentication methods such as calling or using other communication channels to confirm, to avoid being taken advantage of by scammers to appropriate assets.

Making a comeback: Fraudulent scheme impersonating VTV to organize photo contest "Moments of love between mother and child"

In recent times, many individuals have taken advantage of the image and reputation of Vietnam Television (VTV), impersonating individuals and units of VTV to defraud and appropriate property of many victims.

The scam of impersonating VTV to organize a photo contest "Moments of love for mothers and children" is back.

Recently, the program "Mother and Baby Loving Moments Photo Contest" has shown signs of fraud when it impersonates VTV and forces players to participate in "buying sponsors' products".

Recently, VTV Times received information from readers about the program "Photo Contest of Loving Moments of Mother and Baby" introduced by a Facebook Fanpage of the same name organized by "VTV and Vietnam Brand King Company Limited". This is completely a fake information page posting inaccurate information.

According to information from this Fanpage, to participate in the contest, parents need to send a photo of the mother (grandmother) and child together to the Organizing Committee's Fanpage with a message, wishes or meaningful message to the children. The contest prize is up to 50 million VND. However, when parents contacted to register to participate, a person in charge named Nguyen Huu Tri (name and photo impersonating VTV's BTV Huu Tri) instructed that if they participated in the program, they had to buy products from the company "King of Brands" and then "King of Brands" would pay back and "reward" the player with an additional percentage.

Faced with this trick, the Department of Information Security (Ministry of Information and Communications) has repeatedly warned people to be vigilant against competitions and festivals promoted on social networks. People need to verify and carefully research information about fashion model recruitment programs on social networking sites to avoid being scammed. Absolutely do not participate in competitions and festivals promoted online without directly verifying and checking information in real life. Do not follow the requests and instructions of the subject, especially money transfer transactions. Regularly monitor and update crime information to prevent and propagate to relatives, especially middle-aged people. Directly report to the nearest police station when suspecting such tricks.

Warning about scams to register for "Free Police Semester" for children

Recently, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention - Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police discovered that on the social networking site Facebook, many pages have appeared posting information about organizing summer camps for students in the area. The scale of this fraudulent organization is showing signs of spreading to all provinces and cities nationwide.

Fraudulently impersonating police officers to register for summer camp for children.

The scammers created accounts on Facebook such as: "Summer Camp for Skills - People's Public Security Semester - CAND", "Summer Camp for Military Semester", "Aviation Career Summer Camp"... with interfaces, addresses, and phone numbers similar to information of the Public Security, Military, and Vietnam Airlines agencies; at the same time, they used images of the Public Security, Military, and aviation staff to impersonate authorities and post content such as: "Parents, contact your children to participate in the 2024 summer camp to gain experience, career orientation, and receive attractive promotions...", then sent the application criteria, candidate codes, and led the victims to exchange via the "expert's" social network Zalo.

The scammers advised the children that the consultation would be free, with meals and accommodation provided. In return, the students had to practice booking airline tickets online and get a refund, or deposit between 5 million and 10 million VND to register. Initially, domestic airfares were several million VND, then international airfares were several tens of millions VND. Because they believed the content of the Facebook pages was true, many people transferred money to register their children to participate, but after transferring the money, the subject took it and blocked contact.

To avoid the above scams, the Department of Information Security (Ministry of Information and Communications) also recommends that people be vigilant against summer camp organizations to scam. When people receive information from Facebook pages with similar content as above, they need to contact by phone and meet directly with the agency or organization to request documents proving that they are a legal organization and are allowed to organize the above events for registration. Absolutely do not follow instructions to transfer money to anyone and for any reason if you have not yet determined the exact identity of the recipient. If you are scammed and have your property taken, you need to immediately report to the nearest police station for reception and guidance on how to handle it.

Warning about a series of subjects stealing discount codes on Shopee

On April 1, the Investigation Police Agency of Phu Tho Province Police informed about the decision to prosecute a series of subjects for using computer networks, telecommunications networks, and electronic means to appropriate property of Shopee Company Limited.

Previously, from November 2023, through professional work, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (Phu Tho Provincial Police) coordinated with the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (Ministry of Public Security) to detect groups on social networks inside and outside Phu Tho province calling for fake orders (paying people to place orders) and applying discount vouchers when purchasing on the Shopee e-commerce platform.

These groups operate with very sophisticated tricks, with collusion between sellers, buyers, delivery staff at delivery companies and seller affiliate marketing partners who have registered to open accounts on the Shopee e-commerce platform.

By placing virtual orders, these groups create virtual transactions worth tens of billions of VND and thereby appropriate the value of discount codes that Shopee sponsors for shoppers on the Shopee e-commerce platform. Specifically, currently, the Shopee e-commerce platform regularly provides promotions and discounts in the form of high-value discount codes (Vouchers) for consumers to create favorable conditions for consumers to easily buy goods on the e-commerce platform at affordable prices. Taking advantage of the above support policy, the group of subjects used computer networks, telecommunications networks, and electronic means to appropriate the value of these discount codes.

This behavior is directly causing damage to the Shopee e-commerce platform, affecting the rights and interests of genuine sellers and buyers, and affecting the healthy development of the e-commerce market in Vietnam.

Through the above incident, the Department of Information Security (Ministry of Information and Communications) recommends that people should not participate in fake order groups on Facebook, Zalo, Telegram or other social networking platforms to avoid assisting criminal groups in defrauding e-commerce platforms or becoming victims of fraud through the trick of recruiting people to do "easy work with high salaries". At the same time, for buyers, it is necessary to check and carefully research information about the seller; only make transactions when the seller's reputation has been confirmed.

Impersonating a Health Department inspector to defraud bone and joint medicine

Hanoi City Police said that the City Police Investigation Agency is investigating a case of "Fraudulent appropriation of property" in the form of calling people with bone and joint diseases to consult and sell treatment drugs.

Here, the subjects impersonated Phan Thanh Hai - Inspector of the Department of Health, asked about the patient's health status and the medications used, then invited them to buy "Calcium", "Phuc Cot Don" from "Long Huong Pagoda" or "Health Support Center" for a price from 1 million VND to 3 million VND/1 prescription (from 1 - 3 boxes of the above medicine), along with a "Warranty Card" with warranty code 110299.

On the warranty card, in addition to providing the warranty code, the subject also provides content such as: "Warranty card for Vietnamese health", promising to refund 50 million VND if the customer discovers harmful substances in the product. In addition, on the back (white), the information of the customer owning the card will be filled in along with a commitment to improve 90% of the disease; otherwise, the pharmacy will support for free until the disease is completely cured; refund up to 80% of the treatment cost if the disease does not improve.

The subject delivers medicine to the patient via Vietnam EMS or Viettel Post service, and asks the delivery staff to collect the money. Then, the subject tricks the patient into participating in the program to create a book to support free medical examination at Central Hospitals or to receive one-time support with an amount from several tens of millions to several hundreds of millions of VND, on the condition that the book creation fee or value added tax must be paid into the account of the subject.

In response to the above information, the Department of Information Security (Ministry of Information and Communications) recommends that people should be especially careful when making transactions on social networks, especially for items related to the health and lives of users. Absolutely do not listen to advice on fake websites or calls when you cannot determine the level of reputation and safety. When people want to see a doctor or get treatment, they should only go to licensed medical facilities for medical experts to examine, guide treatment and buy medicine at reputable medical facilities, licensed by the State in accordance with regulations, to avoid the situation of "losing money and getting sick".
