Vietnamese dishes "dominate" the list of 16 best sandwiches and rolls in Southeast Asia

Taste Atlas notes that in each region, Vietnamese sandwiches have different fillings, but the common point is that they are all sandwiched in golden, crispy bread.

In the list of 16 best sandwiches and rolls in Southeast Asia recently published by Taste Atlas , Vietnamese representatives dominate with 12 positions. Accordingly, the top 3 positions in the list of the famous culinary website based in Zagreb, Croatia, all belong to Vietnamese versions of banh mi.

This site praises banh mi as a specialty of Vietnamese cuisine. Taste Atlas notes that in each region, Vietnamese banh mi has different fillings but the common point is that they are all sandwiched in golden, crispy bread.

The most popular version of banh mi has a filling consisting of pate made from pork liver served with pork sausage, pickled shredded carrots, coriander, sauce and a few other ingredients.

Visitors can also find sandwiches served with grilled meat. The crispy crust combined with the fresh ingredients in the filling will bring diners an unforgettable experience.

Two other Vietnamese banh mi versions were also highly rated by Taste Atlas , namely banh mi thit (2nd) and banh mi heo quay (3rd).

In addition to sandwich versions such as sardine sandwich, fish cake sandwich, pork roll sandwich, pork roll sandwich, meatball sandwich or fried egg sandwich... spring rolls are also listed by Taste Atlas as an attractive street food.

In the Southeast Asian region, in addition to the series of representatives from Vietnam, there are 4 other dishes included in the list by Taste Atlas : Kaya Toast and Roti John (Singapore), Popiah (Malaysia), Khao phan phak (Thailand).

Founded in 2015, Taste Atlas (headquartered in Zagreb, Croatia) is known as a map that brings together traditional dishes from around the world.

According to Matija Babić, founder of Taste Atlas , the food and beverage rankings are based on opinions and reviews from experts and food critics to ensure the reliability of the awards.
