TPO - During the Lunar New Year 2024, the city presented more than 2.2 million gifts to policy beneficiaries with a total cost of over 1,000 billion VND.
According to the Hanoi People's Committee, during the 2024 Lunar New Year, the city will pay attention to taking care of policy beneficiaries and meritorious people.
Specifically, by February 7 (ie December 28, Quy Mao year), the city had completed giving gifts to beneficiaries according to the instructions. In total, 2,219,722 gifts were given to beneficiaries with a total cost of VND 1,033.48 billion.
Along with gifts from the President and the city, this year, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, districts, communes and wards continue to pay attention and allocate budget to visit and give gifts to the beneficiaries. At the same time, mobilize the community and society to join hands to take care of Tet for the beneficiaries at nursing homes, support facilities, drug rehabilitation facilities and in the locality.

The Hanoi Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations have also launched the Tet 2024 movement with many gift-giving activities for policy families, the poor, the disabled, and people in difficult circumstances.
Along with that, the Trade Unions at all levels organized the programs "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Sharing", "Tet Union Market 2024", "Tet Union Journey - Spring 2024"; organized support, visited gifts, encouraged, and wished Tet to union members and workers. In total, the Trade Union spent over 188 billion VND from the Trade Union budget and socialized sources to support over 513,000 union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong said that this year, the number of gifts given to policy beneficiaries and meritorious people in the city increased by nearly 24%. Of which, socialized resources from enterprises accounted for 25.4% of the total gift budget. This demonstrates the spirit of mutual love, mutual assistance, and shared responsibility of enterprises in the context of many difficulties. Notably, not only the city but also organizations and communes and wards also mobilized socialized resources to care for policy beneficiaries.
