After 3 months, the Central Maternity Hospital has a new Director. Before that, Prof. Dr. Tran Danh Cuong's term ended, Mr. Dinh Anh Tuan, Director of the Department of Maternal and Child Health, was concurrently in charge of managing and operating the hospital.
Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan presented the decision on transfer and appointment to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Anh.
On January 2, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan presented the appointment decision to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Anh, Director of Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital. Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Dao Hong Lan requested the leaders of the Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital to focus on improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, investing in upgrading facilities, directing the line, training human resources, and expanding international cooperation, in order to best serve patients.
Responding to the direction of the Minister of Health, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Anh affirmed that he will lead the Central Maternity Hospital to continue to be a leading medical facility, for the patients and for the staff. He hopes that the Ministry of Health will continue to support the hospital to develop and maintain its position as the leading "cradle" of obstetrics in the country.
“For me, taking on the role of Director of the Central Obstetrics Hospital is a return because I studied here. I always keep in mind the examples of the teachers who have taught me over the years, including Mr. Nguyen Viet Tien - former Deputy Minister of Health, former Director of the Central Obstetrics Hospital, who is sitting here, the first teacher who taught me the first incisions in the first surgery. I continue to learn, criticize and self-criticize, and promise to devote all my heart to the development of the Hospital and to the patients," shared Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Anh.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Anh, 58 years old, from Bac Ninh, became Deputy Director of Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital at the age of 40, and became Director 7 years later. During his 10 years as Director of Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, he has turned this medical facility into one of the 4 final-line hospitals for obstetrics and gynecology in the country.
During his tenure as Director of Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, he implemented many advanced and difficult techniques in the field of obstetrics such as fetal intervention, treatment from the amniotic sac to "repair" the fetus, and development of prenatal diagnosis and screening.
One of the strongest impressions during Mr. Anh's two terms as director of this hospital was the issue of financial management, attracting investment, and developing medical examination and treatment services on demand.
