In addition to commercial products, partners choose high-quality products. Last year, the company participated in the specialty coffee competition in China and built its image. Today, the company officially signed a contract to export high-quality and specialty coffee to the Chinese market.
Elevating Vietnamese coffee
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vu Ba Phu - Director of the Trade Promotion Department - Ministry of Industry and Trade emphasized: Buon Ma Thuot coffee has become a symbol and made Vietnamese coffee famous on the world map, popular in many countries and territories. Buon Ma Thuot coffee always contributes positively to the overall development of the Vietnamese coffee industry.
With a farming tradition of more than 100 years and quickly absorbing achievements, new technology in processing along with good infrastructure, a highly open industry, the ability to link experience chains and market relations are advantages that allow Dak Lak to successfully develop the specialty Robusta coffee segment. The International Trade Conference - connecting and elevating Vietnamese coffee helps the coffee industry approach the circular economy, the experiential economy associated with local resources, associated with local cultural and historical experiences. Speaking at the conference, Ms. Vanusia Nogueira - General Director of the International Coffee Organization (ICO) said: The ICO was established in 1963, and now has 75 partners in consumption and production. Of which, Vietnam has become a very active member of the ICO since 1991. The mission of the ICO is to help businesses overcome difficulties and challenges, especially in the production sector. Last week, we witnessed the price of coffee reaching a record high since 1975. This is an advantage but also a challenge.
"We need to consider not only the output price factor, but also the government's lobby, as well as input materials. Coffee prices are high, but farmers may not make a profit because input materials are high. We need to consider the land area for growing coffee. Many countries face a shortage of land for growing coffee. In addition, we need to consider technical factors, such as applying technology, innovation; sustainable development methods; and educating the market about what real coffee is," Ms. Vanusia Nogueira emphasized.
At the Conference, coffee processing and exporting companies of Dak Lak province signed 18 memorandums of understanding on cooperation with partners of multinational corporations and companies.
