As of 2:30 p.m., the price of SJC gold bars at Saigon Jewelry Company was listed at VND88.5-90.5 million/tael (buy - sell). Compared to before, the price decreased by VND400,000/tael for buying and VND700,000/tael for selling. The difference between buying and selling is VND2 million/tael.
DOJI Group also listed the price of SJC gold bars at the same level: 88.5-90.5 million VND/tael, with the same reduction as Saigon Jewelry Company SJC.
Meanwhile, Bao Tin Minh Chau listed the price of SJC gold bars at 88.8-90.5 million VND/tael, down 400,000 VND/tael for buying and 700,000 VND/tael for selling. The difference between buying and selling prices here is 1.7 million VND/tael.
At the same time, the price of 9999 Hung Thinh Vuong round gold rings at DOJI was listed at 90-91 million VND/tael. Compared to yesterday morning, the price decreased by 100,000 VND/tael for buying and 200,000 VND/tael for selling. The difference between buying and selling prices is 1 million VND/tael.
Bao Tin Minh Chau listed the price of gold rings at 90.05-91.3 million VND/tael, down 100,000 VND/tael for buying and 400,000 VND/tael for selling. The difference between buying and selling is 1.25 million VND/tael.

World gold price
As of 2:30 p.m., the world gold price on Kitco was recorded at 2,858 USD/ounce, down 32 USD/ounce compared to the beginning of the previous trading session.
The main reason for the decline in gold prices is the strong increase in the US dollar. The US Dollar Index, which measures the greenback's performance against six major currencies, is at 107.305 points, up 0.08%.
In addition, gold prices were also affected by the new statement of former US President Donald Trump on tax policy. Specifically, Mr. Trump announced a 25% tax on imports from Canada and Mexico from next Tuesday, along with the 10% tax on Chinese goods that was applied since the beginning of this month.
The news caused mixed reactions in the market, leading to selling pressure on gold. Analysts said half of the decline in gold prices came from the strengthening US dollar, the rest was due to direct selling pressure in the gold market.
The gold market was also influenced by the latest US economic data. The US Commerce Department said durable goods orders rose 3.1% in January, far exceeding analysts' forecasts of 1.3%. This figure reversed from a 1.8% decline in December.
Separately, data from the National Association of Realtors (NAR) showed that the pending home purchase contract index fell 4.6% in January to a record low of 70.6 - compared to expectations for a 1.3% increase.
US mortgage rates ranged from 6.91% to 7.04% in January, weakening housing affordability, contributing to pressure on gold prices.
