Meeting with former cadres of the enemy's propaganda and political struggle in Quang Nam province

This is one of a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Quang Nam province (March 24, 1975 - March 24, 2025) and the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee (March 28, 1930 - March 28, 2025).

The meeting was attended by Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Le Van Dung; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Cong Thanh; Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Huynh Thi Thuy Dung and other leaders, former cadres of the enemy's military, political struggle, former cadres of the mass mobilization - Quang Nam province's front during the period of fighting against the US to save the country.

During the resistance war against the US to save the country, our Party determined that the work of military and enemy agitation, political struggle and mass mobilization played an extremely important role. These activities, combined with the armed forces, created a "three-pronged attack", forming a solid "two-legged, three-pronged" formation, contributing to gradually weakening the enemy's army and government.

Under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, cadres and soldiers of the military and political sectors in Quang Nam fought bravely, contributing to the building and development of the armed forces, forming the core of the people's movement to fight the enemy. The cadres of the military mobilized and gathered the people into a powerful political force, fighting to prevent the sinister plots and tricks of the US and puppet regime. Despite operating in the enemy's heartland with countless hardships and deprivations, the cadres remained steadfast in sticking with the people and the land, developing political bases, accumulating forces, contributing to the great victory of the resistance war against the US, liberating the South, and unifying the country.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung emphasized the important role of military mobilization and political struggle in the resistance war against the US, contributing to the armed forces defeating the invading enemy. He affirmed that the valuable lessons learned from this work still have value, contributing to the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee in the construction and development of Quang Nam today.

Valuable lessons from political struggle and military agitation are very valuable in theory and practice in the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee. In particular, after 50 years of construction and development, from a province in the poorest group in the country, Quang Nam had to receive subsidies of over 70% of the central budget, by 2024, the economic scale reached more than 129 trillion VND, belonging to the group of provinces and cities that contributed to the central budget. GRDP per capita is about 87 million VND, the economic structure has shifted towards modernity and sustainability, with a large proportion of industry and services. In 2024 alone, the total budget revenue will reach about 26 trillion VND, more than 217 times higher than in 1997.

In the coming time, Quang Nam province is facing new opportunities and development opportunities. The planning of Quang Nam province for the period of 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, has been approved by the Prime Minister, demonstrating innovative thinking, strategic vision and orientation for the country's development in the new development period - the period of transforming the growth model with the goal of striving to make Quang Nam a fairly developed province of the country; an important growth pole of the Central - Central Highlands region by 2030. By 2050, Quang Nam will develop comprehensively, modernly and sustainably, imbued with the cultural nature and characteristics of the people of Quang Nam; striving to become a centrally-run city.

At the end of the meeting, the organizing committee presented meaningful gifts to representatives of the liaison committee, expressing deep gratitude for the contributions of former cadres of the enemy's propaganda and political struggle in Quang Nam province during the period of resistance against the US to save the country.
