Ms. Julia Simpson emphasized that this year, the world's "smokeless industry" will return to the level of 2019, and some regions have even surpassed 2019 revenue.
WTTC leaders believe that the key to the future of tourism is regenerative tourism, which aims to promote more sustainable tourism practices and ensure that cultural heritage, local traditions and the environment are preserved from generation to generation.
The latest data from WTTC and partner Oxford Economics shows that global tourism is returning to growth at a faster pace than expected across all regions, with Asia-Pacific leading the way.
With the theme “Building Bridges to a Sustainable Future” and co-organized by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), this year’s WTTC event brings together thousands of industry leaders, experts and top officials from many countries to support the growth and development of tourism towards a safer, more resilient, inclusive and sustainable future.
The 2024 WTTC Global Summit is scheduled to be held in Perth, the capital and largest city of Western Australia (Australia).
WTTC, established in 1990, is the global authority on the socio-economic contribution of travel and tourism. A non-profit organisation headquartered in London, UK, WTTC members include more than 200 CEOs and chairmen of the world's leading private sector travel and tourism businesses. |
