At the end of the session on February 3, the VN-Index decreased by 12 points (-0.95%), closing at 1,253 points.

After the US imposed a 25% tax on imported goods from Canada and Mexico and a 10% tax on China, international stocks fell across the board, affecting stock prices in Vietnam.

Specifically, in the first trading session of the year of the Snake (February 3), despite efforts to recover, the Vietnamese stock market remained within the range of 1,250 - 1,257 points. Red was the dominant color throughout the session.

Pressure from large-cap stocks and foreign investors' net selling of VND1,460 billion, focusing on large stocks such as FPT, VNM, VND... are huge minus points in the market.

At the end of the session, the VN-Index decreased by 12 points (-0.95%), closing at 1,253 points. Liquidity increased with 505.6 million shares matched on the HOSE floor.

According to VCBS Securities Company, the positive point of the session on February 3 was the relatively effective cash flow disbursement in some individual groups of stocks with prospects in 2025. From there, investors expect that in the next session, investors can focus capital on this group of stocks.

Meanwhile, Dragon Viet Securities Company (VDSC) said that the liquidity of the 3-2 session increased compared to the previous session, showing an increase in supply and a dispute with cash flow at the support zone. It is expected that the 1,250-point zone will continue to support the market in the next trading session and create an opportunity for the market to re-test supply and demand at the 1,260-point zone.
