According to the report at the Workshop, implementing Resolution No. 57, the Standing Committee of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee has issued a plan to deploy goals and tasks; in which it is clearly defined that economic development must be based on science and technology, taking innovation as the driving force, and digital transformation as the key tool.
By 2030, Dong Nai aims to develop a sustainable digital technology industry with the core being the Long Thanh Concentrated Information Technology Park (Long Thanh Digital Technology Industrial Park); forming a digital technology industry ecosystem of Dong Nai province with strategic technologies including: semiconductors, data centers, artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IoT), big data (BigData), cloud computing (Cloud), blockchain.
With a longer vision, by 2045, Dong Nai aims to become the leading digital technology industry center and digital center of Vietnam and Southeast Asia with the core being the Long Thanh Concentrated Information Technology Park.
Regarding digital economic targets, the province aims to achieve a digital economic scale accounting for 35-37% of GRDP by 2030 and 50% of GRDP by 2045, in which the digital economic ratio in each industry and field reaches at least 70%.
To realize the major goals set by Dong Nai, at the Workshop, experts and scientists frankly discussed and analyzed the challenges in the process of developing science, technology and digital transformation in the locality. At the same time, many practical solutions were also proposed to bring science and technology more closely connected with real life, especially in the production and business activities of enterprises and the needs of the people.
Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University Vu Hai Quan said that Dong Nai has set high goals, with a long-term vision for science and technology development. Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, emphasized the core contents of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, and highly appreciated the potential and advantages of Dong Nai province in developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation. With a system of large-scale industrial parks, a network of prestigious universities and research institutes, Dong Nai has a full foundation to make a strong breakthrough in this field.
Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat suggested that the province should seriously absorb the profound and practical contributions from experts and scientists at the Workshop. From there, it should be concretized into mechanisms, policies and action programs suitable to the practical conditions of the locality. Effectively utilizing available advantages, along with close coordination between relevant agencies, will be the key factor to help Dong Nai resolutely and effectively implement breakthrough solutions in accordance with the spirit of Resolution No. 57.
According to Mr. Duong Minh Dung, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee identifies the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as the top priority and necessary task for rapid and sustainable economic development. Therefore, the province focuses on building synchronous policy mechanisms to support and accompany businesses in the process of developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.
"In the coming time, the province will continue to perfect appropriate mechanisms and policies, improve the investment environment, create favorable conditions for businesses to access new technology, apply smart production models and innovate," said Mr. Duong Minh Dung.
