More than 4,000 people in Kien Giang listen to information and propaganda about the sea and islands

From March 17 to 21, the Naval Region 5 Command coordinated with the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee to organize information and propaganda on seas and islands, attracting human resources in localities in the province.

Reporters from Naval Region 5 informed and promoted information about the sea and islands to more than 4,000 cadres, party members, students, union members, association members and people in 7 districts and cities under Kien Giang province.

The information and propaganda content focuses on the position, role and importance of Vietnam's seas and islands in the cause of national construction and protection; the current situation in our country's seas; the viewpoints, policies and solutions of our Party and State in the struggle and resolution of disputes at sea; the legal basis and historical evidence affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos; and the typical feats and achievements of the Vietnam People's Navy in protecting the sovereignty of the seas and islands of the Fatherland.

In addition, the reporter of Naval Region 5 also propagated Prime Minister's Directive 45 on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUU); provided advice and information related to training majors, conditions, processes and procedures for registration to the Naval Academy; policies and regimes to attract high-quality human resources to build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern Navy for students at schools in the province.

Colonel Tang Ngoc Thach, Deputy Chief of Politics of Naval Region 5, said: Information and propaganda activities on seas and islands and attracting human resources are part of the coordination program between the Naval Region 5 Command and the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Provincial Party Committees of Kien Giang, Ca Mau and An Giang provinces.

This is a meaningful activity, aiming to strengthen and raise awareness and responsibility among all classes of people, especially the young generation, contributing to promoting the combined strength in the struggle, protecting sovereignty and maintaining a peaceful and stable environment in the seas and islands of the Fatherland.
