Building a new life in the resettlement area

Co Phung Village, Hua La Commune, Son La City is one of the residential areas in the danger zone due to landslides. After 3 months of moving to the new place, up to now, essential works serving people's lives have been invested synchronously, people no longer worry about facing the risk of landslides... can work with peace of mind, produce, and develop the economy.

Ms. Lo Thi Sinh's family is one of 24 households in the village affected by the circulation of storm No. 2 and had to be urgently evacuated. In addition to the 30 million VND the government supported to build a house, her family also received support from organizations, individuals, and benefactors. Up to now, the 60m2 level 4 house has been completed, helping her stabilize her life and work with peace of mind.

Ms. Lo Thi Sinh - Co Phung Village, Hua La Commune, Son La City: During the rainy season, we are no longer afraid of floods or landslides; now my family and other resettled households can feel secure in their production and business.

As for Mr. Leo Van Hung, in order to stabilize his life in the long term, he borrowed more money from his family members to build a 130 m2 level 4 house, with a total value of over 600 million VND. It is expected that the house will be put into use in about 2 months.

Mr. Leo Van Hung - Co Phung Village, Hua La Commune, Son La City : My family was affected by landslides and floods and could not stay in the old place according to state regulations, so our family moved to a new place and was cared for by the state in arranging land and supporting 30 million VND to build a house as well as other organizations. The life of my family and other households has also stabilized, we can work and produce with peace of mind.

24 households in Co Phung village were allocated land in the resettlement area and were handed over by the State with an area of 250m2/household, concrete roads to the village; electricity and water lines were invested to ensure the lives of the people. The local Party Committee and government also regularly cared for, encouraged the people to propagate and guide them to focus on developing production and building a new life in the resettlement area.

Mr. Leo Van Hoi - Party Cell Secretary, Head of Co Phung Village, Son La City: Now the people's lives are very stable. Security and order are also safe, production continues to be carried out as usual in the fields.

Currently, the people have stabilized their spirit and are assured of production. In the coming time, the Party Committee, People's Committee and mass organizations of the commune will continue to grasp the situation as well as the aspirations of the people to work with the resettled people to better ensure their spiritual life as well as other tasks.

After heavy losses caused by floods, with the support of the State, organizations and individuals, the new village is now a bright picture, with green vegetable beds on new land, bringing vitality to the entire resettlement area./.
