Welcoming the delegation of the German Social Democratic Party to visit Vietnam, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized that the Communist Party of Vietnam attaches great importance to exchanging theories and policies with ruling and political parties in other countries, including the German Social Democratic Party.
Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang highly appreciated the theoretical and policy dialogue mechanism between the two Parties since 2011, the 8th Dialogue and the working sessions between the two Parties during the delegation's visit to Vietnam this time.
The Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council informed the delegation of the German Social Democratic Party about Vietnam's achievements and experiences in the cause of Innovation, building a socialist-oriented market economy, economic growth coupled with ensuring social security, inclusive and sustainable development, including the policy of energy transition, digital transformation, and people-centeredness.
Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang reaffirmed the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, multilateralization, diversification, proactive and active international integration, Vietnam is a friend, a reliable partner, and a responsible member of the international community, of the Party and State of Vietnam.
Expressing his appreciation for the good friendship and cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Social Democratic Party of Germany - the party leading the ruling coalition of Chancellor Olaf Scholz, within the framework of the Vietnam - Germany strategic partnership, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized the similarities in approaches to national development policies and agreed that the two Parties should make efforts to enhance practical and effective cooperation for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world, for democracy, fairness, social progress and the interests of the people of the two countries.
The Head of the Delegation of the Social Democratic Party of Germany thanked the Vietnamese side for the warm and hospitable reception, recalled the honor of welcoming Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang to lead the Delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam to attend the 7th Dialogue and visit Germany in 2022; expressed admiration and congratulated Vietnam on the achievements it has made in the cause of Doi Moi as well as recent economic recovery and growth.
The Head of the German Social Democratic Party Delegation said that the SPD attaches great importance to the Dialogue mechanism with the Communist Party of Vietnam - one of the SPD's leading important partners, as well as the 8th Dialogue, highly appreciating the contents of the Dialogue and the working sessions during this visit.
The Head of the German Social Democratic Party Delegation agreed with Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang's assessment of the significance and importance of the 8th Dialogue; affirmed that the Dialogue and the Delegation's visit to Vietnam continued to strengthen mutual understanding and trust, as well as the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two Parties, contributing to strengthening the Vietnam - Germany strategic partnership.
Within the framework of the visit, the two Parties held the 8th Theoretical Dialogue chaired by Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Head of the Delegation of the Social Democratic Party of Germany.
At the Dialogue, the two sides exchanged views on topics related to peace and development in the context of a changing world, planning and implementing policies to ensure peace and stability for sustainable development, adaptation to climate change, economic transformation, and energy transformation in each country.
On this occasion, comrade Le Hoai Trung, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central External Relations Commission, received and worked with the SPD delegation.
The two sides informed each other about the situation of each Party and each country, shared views on regional and international issues of mutual concern, and discussed measures to continue strengthening relations between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Social Democratic Party of Germany, creating trust and a political foundation to contribute to promoting the bilateral strategic partnership to become deeper and more substantial.
During the visit and working period in Vietnam, the delegation visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, visited the Presidential Palace relic site, worked with a number of ministries and sectors, and learned about the implementation of energy transition policies and sustainable socio-economic development in Vietnam.
