The Party Committee and Command of Military Region 7 held a conference to hand over the positions of Party Committee Secretary and Political Commissar of Military Region 7 on March 6. Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, attended and chaired the conference.
Based on the proposal of the Central Military Commission Standing Committee, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 59 dated January 9 on the retirement of Lieutenant General Tran Hoai Trung, Political Commissar of Military Region 7; Decision No. 385 dated February 24 on the appointment of Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc, Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 7, to hold the position of Political Commissar of Military Region 7.

The conference heard a report on the handover of the positions of Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the Military Region, the tasks performed and the key tasks in 2025. The delegates reached a high consensus on the handover contents.
Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet acknowledged and highly appreciated the valuable contributions of Lieutenant General Tran Hoai Trung to the army in general and Military Region 7 in particular over the past time. At the same time, he congratulated Lieutenant General Tran Hoai Trung for successfully completing the tasks assigned by the Party, State and Army over the past 43 years.
The Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army expressed his hope that Lieutenant General Tran Hoai Trung would continue to promote the traditions of the army, the traditions of Military Region 7, and contribute more ideas to the cause of building the army, building the armed forces of Military Region 7 and the locality to develop further.
