Many domestic experts have affirmed that AI application is "no longer an option" but has become a must for businesses to maintain their competitive advantage in the context of accelerated digital transformation. According to Dr. Can Van Luc, member of the National Financial and Monetary Policy Advisory Council, a McKinsey survey in 2024 showed that 65% of the global workforce has applied Generative AI in their daily work.
In particular, AI has helped businesses reduce costs by 21-30% through automation, while significantly improving operational efficiency. Fields such as marketing, technology, finance, customer care, cybersecurity and content production are leading the way in AI applications.
Sharing the same view, Dr. Nguyen Viet Long from Seoul National University (Korea) said that the rate of AI application globally has increased by 31% in just one year. "AI not only helps reduce costs but also creates new business models, promoting innovation in businesses. Businesses that are slow to apply AI may be left behind," Mr. Long commented at the workshop "Corporate governance in the era of artificial intelligence: Improving performance with AI and smart data" held on the morning of March 11 in Hanoi.
Dr. Can Van Luc believes that businesses need to build long-term AI application strategies, data management and human resource development to maximize the potential of this technology.
In Vietnam, some businesses have taken the lead in applying AI to each operational process. Mr. Le Hong Quang, General Director of MISA, shared that thanks to the application of AI, more than 5,000 businesses have been granted loan limits of up to VND 20,000 billion through the unit's digital platform, with a disbursement success rate 4 times higher than traditional methods. In addition, the company is planning to deploy AI Agent in 2025 to provide more comprehensive support for small and medium-sized enterprises.
The application of AI helps increase customer care productivity by 1.71 times, reduce staff from 600 to 350 people, optimize financial processes, automate accounting and support businesses to access capital faster. In 2024, this technology will strongly support many areas such as customer service (56%), cybersecurity (51%), customer relationship management (42%) and content production (40%).
In addition, experts also note that although the benefits of artificial intelligence are huge, successful AI application requires businesses to have thorough preparation in terms of technical infrastructure, human resources capacity as well as clear data management policies. Popularizing AI is not simply a matter of upgrading technology, but also a journey of transforming management thinking to optimize business efficiency, ready for increasingly fierce competition in the coming time.
