On June 23, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training announced the benchmark scores and admission results for grade 10 in the 2024-2025 school year at public schools in the province.
In the 2024-2025 school year, Dak Lak has 53 public high schools; of which, 12 schools (9 high schools, 1 specialized school, 2 ethnic boarding high schools) organize entrance exams for grade 10, the rest are selected based on academic records.
According to the decision on the benchmark scores and the number of students admitted to grade 10 of 9 high schools signed by the Director of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, there are 2 schools with quite high benchmark scores: Buon Ma Thuot High School and Le Quy Don High School (both 15.75 points).
Krong Ana High School is one of the schools with low 10th grade admission scores.
The remaining 7 high schools have very low benchmark scores, only 5 - 6 points for the 3 subjects of math, literature and English.
Specifically, Krong Ana High School (5.0 points); Ngo Gia Tu High School (5.5 points); Buon Ho High School (5.5 points); Phan Boi Chau High School (5.5 points); Nguyen Binh Khiem High School (5.25 points); Cu M'gar High School (6.0 points); Ea H'leo High School (6.0 points).
The total number of students admitted to the 10th grade entrance exam at the 9 high schools above is 3,893.
Although the entrance score is low, compared to the total enrollment target for grade 10 in the 2024-2025 school year assigned by the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training to the above 9 public schools, which is 4,572, there is still a shortage of 679 students.
Some schools lacked a large number of students, such as: Krong Ana High School only recruited 292 students (192 students short of the target), Phan Boi Chau High School recruited 261 students (179 students short); Nguyen Binh Khiem High School recruited 362 students (118 students short)...
According to a leader of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, schools that have not yet recruited enough students will rely on regulations to recruit more students. Students who fail the exam due to lower scores than the standard score will have a second choice, which is to be considered for admission based on their transcripts to another school in the same area.
