Domestic coffee price list updated early morning March 10, 2025

Last week, domestic coffee prices fluctuated strongly according to the world market. According to statistics, although they decreased in the last trading sessions of the week, overall coffee prices last week were still higher than the previous week. Domestic coffee prices are currently trading at 129,000 - 129,800 VND/kg, a slight increase compared to 127,500 - 129,500 VND/kg last week.

However, positive weather news with rain in both Brazil and Vietnam later eased concerns about global supply. At the same time, prices dropped sharply in the following days and ended the week at VND129,000 - 129,800/kg, only slightly up from VND127,500 - 129,500/kg last week. In the world market, despite many fluctuations, coffee prices still increased slightly compared to last week.

The volatility of the US dollar against other major currencies helped the Brazilian Real gain 2.6% against the US dollar in the first week of March. As Brazil's Carnival holiday comes to an end, production and exports in the world's largest coffee producer and exporter are likely to increase.

According to experts, the sharp increase in coffee prices over the past three years has benefited farmers and coffee holders. However, it has been very difficult for many businesses.

Recently, two major Brazilian coffee exporters belonging to the Montesanto group had to file for bankruptcy protection due to serious financial difficulties. The main reason was that the coffee price skyrocketed, farmers "broke the deal", not supplying coffee at the agreed price. This caused businesses to suffer huge losses when they were forced to buy coffee at high prices to fulfill previously signed low-price contracts.

In Vietnam, contract violations also occurred in the previous coffee crop. When coffee prices increased too much, the supply chain was broken, and many businesses could not fulfill their contracts.
