The 2023 ASEAN International Film Festival concluded on August 4, honoring many outstanding works and artists. The Vietnamese film The Glorious Night won the Best Supporting Actress category, while Korean star Bi Rain was honored at the ASEAN Inspiration Award.

The ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards Gala Night - AIFFA 2023 was held on August 4 in Kuching Island, Sarawak (Malaysia) with the participation of many Southeast Asian filmmakers and artists, along with the appearance of Korean star Bi Rain as an international guest. The Vietnamese delegation at this film festival included actress Hong Anh - a member of the jury, director Marcus Manh Cuong Vu, director Aaron Toronto, screenwriter Nha Uyen and actor Lam Duy Phuong.
In the end, the film Dem toi rua luc by director Aaron Toronto won the Best Supporting Actress award for Kim B's impressive performance. Since the main character was not present when her name was announced, director Toronto and screenwriter Nha Uyen went on stage to receive the award on her behalf. This is also the only victory of Vietnam's representative at AIFFA 2023. Previously, Vietnam had two films competing at this film festival with 4 nominations. Memento Mori: Dat by director Marcus Manh Cuong Vu was nominated for Best Actress (Nguyen Hai Yen - Red) and Best Picture (Tran Ngoc Khuyen). Meanwhile, the film Dem toi rua luc by Aaron Toronto was nominated for Best Screenplay (Nha Uyen, Aaron Toronto) and Best Supporting Actress (Kim B).

As expected by the audience, Korean singer and actor Bi Rain was honored in the ASEAN Inspiration category. Arriving in Malaysia to attend AIFFA 2023, Kim Tae Hee's husband received a warm welcome from many fans. On his personal page, he shared the moment of receiving the award and sent his thanks to the fans who have always supported him and expressed his gratitude for receiving this special award.

The most important award at the ASEAN International Film Festival - Best Film, went to Barbarian Invasion (Malaysia) directed by Chui Mun Tan. In addition, the award for Best Film Editing went to the team of Faces of Anne (Thailand). Roy Lolang of The Woman Crowned with a Crescent Moon (Indonesia) won the award for Best Picture. Two films, Before, Now & Then (Indonesia) and Fathers (Cambodia), won the Jury Prize.
The Best Actress category honored Mas Eigenmann for her breakthrough performance in Kargo (Philippines). The Best Actor category went to Datuk Tamimi Siregar of Perjalanan pertama (Malaysia and Indonesia). Besides Kim B's win in the supporting actress category, Hasnul Rahmat of Jerangkung dalam almari (Malaysia) won the Best Supporting Actor award. Notably, the film The baseball player (Philippines) helped filmmaker Carlo Obispo win the Best Director award.
