That same evening, after working with the exam board, the Department of Education and Training said that "the drafting stage mistakenly recorded" the score for question IV, from 3 to 2.5. According to the Department, the marking instructions still ensured that question IV was worth 3 points, with the total score of the exam being 10.
"The specific answers and scores for the subjects in the 10th grade entrance exam are expected to be announced on June 14," the Department of Information said.
Previously, the general math exam of Hanoi had problems in printing. Part III of some exam papers had a blurred hyphen, causing students to make mistakes in the calculation. To ensure the rights of candidates, the Department added the answer for this question. Candidates who made mistakes but calculated correctly still got points.
The Department said that in the following exams, in addition to ensuring the quality of printing, the Department will pay attention to notifying and reminding candidates to check the exam questions and report to the invigilators.
This year, Hanoi's 10th grade entrance exam had more than 104,000 candidates. With a public quota of 72,000, the admission rate was 66.5%. Exam scores and benchmark scores were announced on July 4 and July 8-9. If admitted, candidates will enroll online. From July 18, schools that do not meet their quota will begin additional admissions.
