(NLDO) - In the 2025-2026 school year, Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School plans to enroll 285 students in grade 10.
Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) plans to enroll 285 students in grade 10 for the 2025-2026 school year. This includes 4 regular grade 10 classes with 180 students and 3 integrated classes with 105 students, an increase of 80 students compared to last year.
Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School was established in 2024 on the basis of reorganizing Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted. At the same time, it will enroll and train grades 6 and 10 from the 2024-2025 school year. The headquarters of Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School is located at 53 Nguyen Du Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1.
In the 10th grade entrance exam last year, the specific admission scores were as follows:
Regular grade 10 (math, literature, foreign language): Choice 1 (20 points), choice 2: 21 points, choice 3: 22 points.
In integrated class (math, literature, foreign language, integrated): Wish 1 (32 points), wish 2 (32.5 points), wish 3 (32.75 points).
Information from the school shows that the school has 32 classrooms equipped with air conditioning, laboratories, drawing rooms, piano rooms, badminton courts, pickle ball courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts...
In addition to elective subjects and clusters of elective study topics, the school program of Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School also has elective foreign languages such as German, Japanese, French, Chinese...
A math festival was held at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School.
Meanwhile, it is expected that two famous specialized schools in Ho Chi Minh City, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted and Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, will also propose to increase the enrollment quota for specialized 10th graders in the 2025-2026 school year.
In the 2025-2026 10th grade admission season, mass high schools that enroll specialized 10th grade students must stop enrolling in this program according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. It is expected that most of these schools will propose to increase the 10th grade enrollment quota.
Mr. Lam Trieu Nghi, Principal of Nguyen Thuong Hien High School (Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City), said that the school's annual 10th grade quota is calculated based on the number of 12th grade graduates. However, in the 2025-2026 school year, when enrollment for specialized 10th grade stops, the school plans to propose increasing the quota for regular 10th grade.
"In previous years, the school's quota for specialized 10th grade classes was 5 classes, each class had 35 students - a total of 175 students. This year, when there are no more specialized classes, the school has the ability to recruit 225 more students for 5 regular 10th grade classes, each class has 45 students" - Mr. Nghi informed.
According to Mr. Do Duong Cung, Principal of Nguyen Huu Huan High School (Thu Duc City), the school's annual 10th grade quota depends on the number of candidates and is calculated and assigned to schools by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training. Since the school will no longer recruit specialized classes next school year, normally, every specialized class will be replaced by a regular 10th grade class.
