On the afternoon of October 18, the Steering Committee for the 4th Provincial Congress of Ethnic Minorities in 2024 held a press conference to provide information to local and central press agencies stationed in Dak Lak province. Comrade Nguyen Thien Van - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Congress Steering Committee chaired the press conference.
Also attending the press conference were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, relevant departments and branches; leaders of central and local press agencies .

According to information from the Organizing Committee, the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Dak Lak Province in 2024 will be held for 2 days, from October 24 to October 25, 2024 at Muong Thanh Hotel, 81 Nguyen Tat Thanh, Buon Ma Thuot City, with the theme: "Ethnic people of Dak Lak province unite, innovate, promote advantages, potentials, integration and sustainable development" .

The Congress is a particularly important political event of Dak Lak province, marking the 5-year journey of implementing the Resolution of the 3rd Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Dak Lak province in 2019. This is a forum for exchange, discussion, creating consensus and strong belief of ethnic minorities in the leadership of the Party and the management and administration of the State. The Congress will summarize and evaluate the achievements, draw lessons, and set out goals and tasks for the period 2024 - 2029.

According to the working program, the Congress will discuss and give opinions on the draft Political Report of the Congress, listen to reports of typical collectives and individuals. The Congress will approve the Resolution of the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Dak Lak Province in 2024.
In addition, there are also sideline activities of the Congress such as: Organizing a delegation to visit the Martyrs' Cemetery; Dialogue conference between Provincial leaders and delegates attending the Congress; Music and dance program to welcome the Congress; Displaying booths of OCOP products and traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups in Dak Lak province (each district, town, and city is expected to have 01 booth for two days starting from 9:00 a.m. on October 24, 2024 to October 25, 2024), organizing a number of unique folk cultural activities of ethnic minorities on the official day of the Congress (food booths, typical cultural performances of some ethnic groups, ...).

The Congress is expected to have the participation of 333 delegates, including 250 official delegates, representing more than 715 thousand ethnic minorities of 49 ethnic groups currently living, studying and working in the province, including: 187 delegates elected from the district congress; 45 delegates elected from the departments, branches and organizations in the province; 18 delegates of course. These are typical delegates, who have made many contributions to ethnic work and implementation of ethnic policies in the province in the past time.

The Congress is expected to invite 83 guest delegates including: Central leaders, leaders of the Ethnic Committee, Departments under the Ethnic Committee; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; delegates who are former leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee; delegates from neighboring provinces, etc.
At the press conference, the press agencies discussed with the organizing committee some additional information such as: Content of the dialogue between the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and ethnic minority representatives; results of the implementation of the national target program in ethnic minority areas; ethnic work and ethnic policies and great national unity; coordination in disseminating typical advanced examples...
Speaking at the press conference, Comrade Nguyen Thien Van - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Dak Lak province in 2024 is an important political event, calling on the people of all ethnic groups to unite, unify their will, join hands, and promote the achievements of the past 5 years, overcome all difficulties and obstacles, and strive to build a rich, civilized, and unique Dak Lak province.
In that spirit, the Congress Steering Committee requests the Ethnic Committee, Departments and branches to coordinate well in preparing documents, reviewing the operating scenario and participants, preparing well the contents of welcoming delegates; dialogue according to content groups; proactively providing data on ethnic work results in the past 5 years for press agencies to develop propaganda products before, during and after the congress, promptly praising advanced models. It is requested that news agencies and press continue to promote their pioneering role on the ideological work front, step up propaganda for the 4th Dak Lak Provincial Ethnic Minority Congress in 2024, making an important contribution to the success of the Congress.
The district-level ethnic minority congress took place from April to the end of June 2024 with the participation of 2,248 delegates representing ethnic minorities in the province. The district-level congress was solemnly organized on an appropriate, practical, and economical scale, while creating an exciting, enthusiastic, and proud atmosphere among the local ethnic people. 190 collectives and 334 individuals were commended by the Chairmen of the People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities; 15 collectives and 44 individuals were commended by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; 15 collectives and 30 individuals were commended by the Head of the Provincial Ethnic Committee for their outstanding achievements in implementing ethnic work and ethnic policies in the period of 2019 - 2024. |
