On the morning of March 2, at 10/3 Square, Buon Ma Thuot city, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province coordinated with the Provincial Youth Union and the Department of Education and Training to organize the 42nd Dak Lak Provincial Cross Country Race in 2025, competing for the Grineu Electric Cup.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province Tran Hong Tien said that the 42nd Dak Lak Provincial Cross Country Race in 2025 is a useful sports playground for athletes to exchange, practice health, improve will and determination, in line with the spirit of "Healthy to build a career and protect the country"; thereby continuing to develop and improve the quality of the sports movement among the masses in general, young people in particular and concretizing the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho".

The tournament attracted nearly 1,000 athletes from 26 delegations, competing in 06 events: young women, amateur women (02 km); main women (03 km); amateur men, young men (04 km); main men (05 km). This year's tournament was organized more professionally and on a larger scale, with an increase of more than 500 athletes and 9 delegations compared to 2024.
After a vibrant competition, the tournament was a great success. As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded medals and cash prizes to individuals who achieved First, Second, Third place and style prizes to individuals who achieved 4th - 10th place in each category.

The Organizing Committee awarded team prizes for each event, main - youth team prizes, and movement team prizes to the winning units. Movement event, first prize: Buon Ma Thuot Runners Club; second prize: Provincial Running Association; third prize: Vo Nguyen Giap High School, Ea Kar district; main - youth event, first prize: Buon Ho Town unit; second prize: Krong Bong; third prize: Ea Kar district.

The Dak Lak Provincial Cross Country Championship is the province's longest-standing athletics tournament. This year, the tournament is a practical celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Buon Ma Thuot Victory Day, the liberation of Dak Lak province. The Organizing Committee said that in this year's tournament, athletes are equipped with timing chips attached to their bibs to track their routes and times in order to professionalize the tournament as well as support the referee team to easily monitor and evaluate the athletes' performance quickly and accurately.
