As the valedictorian of the English Department, Hanoi National University of Education, Hoang Thi Cam Tu (from Thach Ha, Ha Tinh) has just won a scholarship to study for a master's degree at Huddersfield University (UK).

Hoang Thi Cam Tu (born 2000), from Thach Ha town (Ha Tinh), is the third child in a farming family with 4 children, with quite difficult economic conditions. However, Cam Tu always strives to overcome her circumstances, achieving many academic achievements such as: Bronze medal in the Internet English contest for grade 11; second prize in the provincial English competition for excellent students in grade 11... With her academic and training achievements, Cam Tu was admitted to the Party in grade 12 at Ly Tu Trong High School (Thach Ha).

In the 2018 university entrance exam, Cam Tu was the runner-up in the English Department of Hanoi National University of Education. In 2022, with excellent graduation results, Tu was retained by the school as a lecturer. During this time, she also received a scholarship to study for a master's degree at the University of Huddersfield (UK).

Talking about her efforts, Cam Tu shared: "I think the academic results I have achieved come from diligence, hard work and especially from the desire to rise up and change my life. I learned that from my parents. Although they were simple farmers, my parents always worked hard, spent frugally, and invested in their children's education. Since childhood, my siblings and I have always been encouraged by our parents to strive to study hard to rise up. Therefore, I always try to overcome difficulties in life."

It is known that, to help her parents, right from the end of her first year of university, Cam Tu found part-time jobs such as: tutoring, typing, translating, English interpreter... Not only did she have extra income, the job also gave her a lot of knowledge, experience, and good support for her studies.

In 7/8 semesters of 4 years of university, Cam Tu always won the school's excellent scholarship. She also spent time participating in many social volunteer activities such as: Green Summer Campaign, humanitarian blood donation... Thanks to her excellent average score in subjects, achievements in scientific research, social activities, Cam Tu not only graduated as valedictorian of Hanoi National University of Education but also received a master's scholarship from Huddersfield University (UK).

In June 2023, Hoang Thi Cam Tu was one of 150 outstanding young people and students invited to attend the program "Meeting and connecting outstanding young people and students of Ha Tinh who are working and studying in Hanoi", organized by Ha Tinh Provincial Youth Union. Previously, at the end of 2022, Cam Tu was also invited by the Board of Directors of Ly Tu Trong High School (Thach Ha) to be a speaker, sharing experiences and learning methods with students at the school.

These days, while Cam Tu is preparing the procedures to go to the UK to study for a master's degree in January 2024, in her hometown of Ha Tinh, her family and relatives are also extremely excited.

Mr. Hoang Van Thanh (Cam Tu's father, in residential group 10, Thach Ha town) expressed: "When we heard that Cam Tu was awarded a scholarship to study for a master's degree abroad, we were very happy. Besides the excitement and pride, I also always tell her to try her best to study well so that she can return to serve the country later."

That is: No matter where, in what field, in what circumstances, every Ha Tinh youth and student needs to "study, study more, study forever"; must maintain the character, studious spirit, diligence, and loyalty of Ha Tinh people. Thereby, continue to spread the image and cultural beauty of the people of my homeland to friends everywhere... Therefore, I hope that after finishing my studies, I will have the opportunity to contribute to my homeland Ha Tinh".
