Director Nhat Trung hopes for a chance to make peace with Nha Phuong

After 3 years of discord with Nha Phuong due to conflicts related to the movie "1990", director Nhat Trung said he always wanted the opportunity to "sit down and talk to each other".

At the announcement of the Tet film project Meeting the Pregnant Sister, director Nhat Trung was asked about the noisy story with Nha Phuong 3 years ago when they collaborated on the film 1990. In April 2021, this director was upset and "accused" the actress of being unprofessional and having "star disease" when she did not support the 1990 film crew in promoting the product. After that, the conflict between the two sides became tense.

Responding to the old story, Nhat Trung said that this incident made him lose his feelings for the profession for a while: “After the incident, I lost a younger brother and a friend. Many times meeting at events, I wanted to have the old feelings again. Those who follow me know that I don’t have many friends. And Truong Giang is a very close friend of mine. Honestly, I want to have a chance for the two of us to sit down together. I want to apologize to Truong Giang”/

Nhat Trung also confided about the reason why he hasn't made a film for a long time: "For the past three years, I haven't made a film for many reasons such as the epidemic, economic recession... but mainly because I lost all my emotions and purpose in doing the job. After that, I also lost a younger brother and a close friend. I always hoped for a chance for us to sit down and talk to each other after that incident."

Director Nhat Trung is famous for many films with revenue of hundreds of billions.

Nearly 3 years ago, when director Nhat Trung "criticized" her for having "star disease", the representative of Nha Phuong's management company spoke up to affirm that the actress had performed all her duties as an actress. All work related to other activities, including film promotion activities, was the responsibility of the company. This caused the relationship between the director and Truong Giang's wife to deteriorate significantly.

Director Nhat Trung was the one who brought Nha Phuong and Truong Giang together on screen in 2015 with the movie 49 Days . Thanks to that pairing, they became a couple in real life.

Nha Phuong was once accused by Nhat Trung of having "star disease".

Talking about the new film, Nhat Trung said: "Luckily, this project has revived me, giving me new energy to do everything again ." The director affirmed that he does not want to consider this year's Tet film race as a confrontation, simply putting out films for the audience to enjoy.

"Tet is a happy day and Vietnamese audiences have a habit of going to the cinema. I really like Tran Thanh's point of view that it should not be considered a race because everyone is trying together. Our mission is to make our films well, giving audiences many choices when going to the cinema.

The boom in Tet movie revenue means that there are many good movies that year. From a director's perspective, I just want to bring the audience the best movie possible," he added.

The film Meeting Sister Bau Ra by director Nhat Trung will be released on February 10 (the first day of the Lunar New Year). The main cast includes Le Giang, Anh Tu, Dieu Nhi, Ngoc Phuoc and Quoc Khanh.
