Gambling by writing down lottery numbers, a woman was prosecuted

– On August 11, the Investigation Police Agency of Van Lang District Police announced that it had just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and issue an arrest warrant to temporarily detain Nguyen Lan Huong, born in 1984, residing in Tan Thanh Commune, Van Lang District, for the crime of gambling.

Previously, at 5:45 p.m. on August 7, 2023, the Van Lang District Police working group was on duty to ensure security and order in Zone 2, Tan Thanh Commune, Van Lang District, when they discovered at Nguyen Lan Huong's tea shop two young men with suspicious signs of gambling in the form of recording lottery numbers. Through verification, the two young men were named Hua Quang Minh, born in 2000, residing in Na Sam Town and Lang Van Chuyen, born in 2002, residing in Hoang Viet Commune (Van Lang District).

During the investigation, the police determined that Minh and Chuyen had purchased 230 lottery points from Nguyen Lan Huong (each point was worth 23,000 VND), the total amount was 5,290,000 VND, the seized evidence included 3 lottery cables. Executing an emergency search warrant at Nguyen Lan Huong's residence, the task force seized 5,650,000 VND, the subject confessed that this amount was money to record lottery numbers for customers on August 7.

When checked by the police, Huong threw away her cell phone to destroy evidence. The case is still under investigation and being expanded.
