At the meeting, delegates gave their opinions on the content of the preparation for the General Political Department's May meeting and key tasks for June 2023. The opinions expressed were in high agreement with the draft report, and affirmed that the Party and political activities in May closely followed the military and defense tasks, and the Party building of the Army; were comprehensively deployed, with focus and key points, and successfully completed both regular and ad hoc tasks.

Notably, the quality of staff and direction of agencies in the General Department of Politics in all aspects of work continued to be improved; the entire army continued to carry out training tasks, combat readiness, organize inspections to complete training of new soldiers, focusing on "3 explosions", ensuring safety; participate in natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue. The General Department of Politics regularly pays attention to, directs, and strengthens the team of cadres with capacity, expertise, and experience to participate in special propaganda work, especially in key directions of national defense and security.

Speaking at the meeting, General Luong Cuong requested to continue to do a good job of directing the entire army, closely and seriously organizing the study and dissemination of the results of the 13th Central Committee's mid-term conference; strengthening political education, ideological leadership, task education, building the will and determination to be ready to receive and complete assigned tasks well. In addition, directing units to review mid-term staff planning, review groups of positions, and military rank ceilings for subjects, first of all, units implementing reorganization and merger according to the plan of the Ministry of National Defense. Inspecting, assessing the current situation and paying attention to investing in facilities, improving the cultural and spiritual life of soldiers, especially units stationed on borders, seas, islands, and forces performing special tasks.

General Luong Cuong reminded agencies and units to strictly and qualitatively implement the rules and regulations; prevent and fight fires and explosions; promote propaganda activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Uncle Ho's call for patriotic emulation; do a good job of preparing for the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day, the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory, etc.
