On August 19, the national final round of the individual category of the 5th National Olympic Competition on Marxist-Leninist Sciences and Ho Chi Minh Thought “Light to the Path” in 2023 took place in Hanoi. The competition was organized by the Central Youth Union in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and the National Political Publishing House Truth.

The Central Youth Union leaders congratulated Corporal Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang and the contestants who won second and third prizes at the 5th National Olympic Competition on Marxist-Leninist Science and Ho Chi Minh Thought "Light to the Path".

After 4 rounds: "Footprints ahead", "Searching for the truth", "Faith in me" and "Light to guide the way", surpassing 9 other contestants in the national final round of the individual category, the representative of the Army's youth - Corporal Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang (student of the Military Science Academy) excellently won first prize. Second place was contestant Pham Bich Ngoc (Institute of High Quality Training, Vietnam Maritime University); third place was contestant Huynh Thanh Nga (Tay Ninh Pedagogical College).

The contest officially launched on May 18, 2023 with 2 competition groups: Individual group and team group with a combination of online and dramatization.

The 5th National Olympic Competition on Marxist-Leninist Sciences and Ho Chi Minh Thought “Light to the Way” was built with many impressive innovations, typically expanding the playground for students of both specialized and non-specialized majors belonging to young theory clubs in universities, academies, and colleges; creating space for provincial, municipal, and affiliated youth unions to proactively create and organize provincial rounds of the unit; improving the quality and depth of the content of the competition through the form of building and defending projects with topical topics of the country.

In particular, coming to the 2023 contest, in addition to the opportunity to participate in competitions, exchanges and shares knowledge about Marxist-Leninist sciences and Ho Chi Minh's thought, students will also be provided with and supplemented with knowledge about political theory subjects through online lectures that are built in a lively, creative and attractive way on the contest's website.

After 6 weeks of individual board competition, there were 261,874 candidates (with 677,521 exams) from 67 provincial, municipal, affiliated unions and the Vietnamese Student Association abroad participating in the competition. In the cluster round of the team board, nationwide there were 36 youth theory clubs from provincial, municipal and affiliated unions participating.

Tomorrow (August 20), the final round of the team table of the 5th National Olympiad on Marxist-Leninist Science and Ho Chi Minh Thought "Light to the Path" will take place with the competition of 4 excellent teams that won the regional round, including: Army Youth, Hanoi Youth Union, Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, and People's Public Security Youth Union.
