Bloomberg reported that Witkoff plans to make the trip this week, his second visit to Russia as President Trump's special envoy.

The trip was scheduled to coincide with meetings between Ukrainian officials and Secretary of State Marco Rubio with US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz in Saudi Arabia.

Regarding the above information, on the same day, March 11, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said: "Contacts between Russia and the US are currently taking place quite quickly. The level and form are often agreed upon very quickly during the working process."

Relations between Moscow and Washington have warmed under US President Donald Trump with phone calls between the two leaders and direct contacts between officials.

However, on March 10, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia and the US are currently in the early stages of restoring bilateral relations, admitting that "the road ahead will be long and difficult."

However, he also emphasized that both President Putin and his counterpart Trump have shown political will to promote dialogue and improve relations between the two countries. The US leader also showed a constructive spirit to engage in dialogue and resolve outstanding issues between the two sides.

In addition, the Kremlin spokesman warned that many people are rushing to use "rose-colored glasses" when observing US actions towards Ukraine, noting that Russia is always ready to protect its interests.
