According to the Border Guard Command of Binh Thuan province, at 10:00 a.m. on March 7, 2025, fishing boat BTh 97618 TS, 400 CV capacity, 15m long, fishing, with 15 workers, captained by Mr. Vo Thanh Chi, born in 1979, residing in Long Hai commune, Phu Quy island district (Binh Thuan), while exploiting seafood in the sea area about 11 nautical miles south of the island, was broken, causing water to flood into the engine compartment, causing the risk of sinking the boat.
The captain of ship BTh 97618 TS sent a distress signal.
Upon receiving the information, the Border Guard Command of Binh Thuan province mobilized the Search and Rescue ship BP 11.19.01 of the Phu Quy Port Border Guard Station to carry out the mission of searching and rescuing fishing boats and fishermen.
At about 12:20 p.m. the same day, ship BP.11.19.01 approached the fishing vessel in distress and took measures to assist the fishing vessel in distress.
