The contest was organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training for the first time in 2013. This is the second time that TDTU has been trusted by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to host the contest.

The 2025 competition became the largest playground in the country and attracted 74 units from 62/63 provinces and cities to participate and 212 projects registered for the competition, of which Ho Chi Minh City led with 12 projects, Hanoi with 6 projects. TDTU actively coordinated to organize the competition, creating all favorable conditions, facilities, and equipment to ensure the competition was successfully organized and achieved the best results.
The competition has promoted the strong development of scientific research activities in secondary education institutions, creating strong motivation for students to study, research, nurture and develop creative capacity to turn dreams into reality.
In addition, the competition also contributes to promoting innovation in teaching methods in general schools, contributing to comprehensive education, orienting students to apply knowledge to solve practical problems. Notably, the projects that win the first prize of the Competition will participate in the selection of international projects in the United States scheduled for May 2025.
With modern facilities according to international standards of TDTU, meeting the requirements of organizing large events, national and international scale, the competition will take place in a professional and favorable environment for the contestants and the Organizing Committee. In addition, the competition held at TDTU will also help students of the schools access the advanced educational and scientific research environment.

Currently, TDTU is one of the universities with strengths in scientific research. In particular, the University has many innovative and development policies in the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.
