Energy development contributes to socio-economic development

Wind power development in Thanh Phu district.

Specifically, there are 9 wind power projects under construction, with an installed capacity of 365.9 MW; of which, there are 7 projects generating commercial power for the entire plant, with 246.5 MW, 1 project generating power for part of the plant (4.25/90 MW), 1 project has not generated power yet and 10 wind power projects are implementing legal investment procedures.

Investment in developing the 110KV power grid infrastructure ensures stable power supply for the province's socio-economic development. The growth rate of commercial electricity in the period of 2020 - 2024 reached 4.7%. The electricity industry has effectively implemented and applied digital transformation activities to improve efficiency in the energy sector and the national program on developing smart energy infrastructure.

The province has been approved to develop two more 220KV transformer stations and connection infrastructure in Binh Dai and Thanh Phu districts in the VIII Power Plan, with transmission infrastructure to meet the needs of high-tech shrimp farming and transmission of the province's wind power projects and three wind power projects in the coming period, helping to increase the cumulative capacity of wind power development to 1,100MW by 2030.

Moving forward, the province recommends and proposes solutions to the National Assembly, the Government, and central ministries and branches. In particular, it is recommended that the Government soon issue decrees guiding the implementation of the revised Electricity Law in 2024, with specific instructions on regulations on compensation support for impacts within the wind tower safety corridor so that localities have a basis to support people. For central ministries and branches, promptly advise the Government to issue a Decision adjusting the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050; in which, allowing the province to supplement the Green Hydro project and self-produced and self-consumed power supply to serve the Green Hydro production project; My Tho - Ben Tre 500kV Station and Line. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment soon has instructions on noise for onshore wind power projects...
