With their durability and bright colors, many flower gardeners in Hanoi have rented container trucks to import thousands of pots of raspberry chrysanthemums from Sa Dec (Dong Thap) for sale.

Having been in the flower and ornamental plant business for many years on To Huu - Le Van Luong Street (Ha Dong - Hanoi), Ms. Lan said that this year she went to Dong Thap since November 2024 to order raspberry chrysanthemums from the gardens.
Her experience in flower trading shows that Southern ornamental flowers, especially Sa Dec raspberry chrysanthemums, are always the preferred choice of customers. Also because of their high durability, bright colors, large flowers and wider canopy, the flowers can be played until January, so every year there are more customers asking to buy them than Northern raspberry chrysanthemums.

"This year the price of chrysanthemums has only increased slightly, about 10,000 VND/pot, but the transportation and wharfage costs have both increased, so we have also adjusted the price a bit, but not much. Each pot of chrysanthemums in Sa Dec is 170,000 VND, both retail and wholesale, focusing on quantity" - Ms. Lan said.
Another gardener on Hoang Hoa Tham Street said that Sa Dec raspberry chrysanthemums are popular because of their bright flowers, while northern raspberry chrysanthemums have smaller and darker flowers. Mr. Hung, the owner of a flower and ornamental plant shop, said he has ordered thousands of pots of raspberry chrysanthemums to Hanoi for Tet.

"The price of the chrysanthemums from the two regions is not much different, ranging from 180,000 - 250,000 VND/pot depending on the size. I have ordered two container trucks, each carrying about 2,500 chrysanthemum pots, to sell since the beginning of December. I will have 1-2 more trips to serve the Tet market at the end of the year," Mr. Hung shared.

The Tet flower market in Hanoi has also begun to bustle. Along many streets are places selling Tet flowers, kumquat, wild peach, peach and other ornamental plants and flowers that have flooded the streets. Many flower gardeners said that this year, due to the impact of natural disasters and floods, ornamental plants and flowers have also been affected, reducing productivity.

However, gardeners have quickly restored production, some of them have planted and replanted to supply in time for Tet. Therefore, the price of ornamental plants and flowers for Tet this year has increased by 10-30% depending on the type, especially plants such as kumquat and peach trees, which have increased more sharply than other types of flowers.
