Meanwhile, National Highway 1A through Binh Tan District recorded congestion due to the large number of vehicles heading to the Western provinces. Traffic jams extended right under the overpass to Vo Van Kiet Street. |
From the overpass to Vo Van Kiet Avenue, vehicles continue to line up until the border of Ho Chi Minh City - Long An (section entering Ben Luc district). In the photo, right at the traffic light, a long line of vehicles is seen heading towards Binh Dien Bridge. |
In the opposite direction, traffic flows straight to the Eastern provinces and onto Vo Van Kiet Avenue. |
Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport assessed that the demand for personal vehicles to travel to the provinces and vice versa would increase, so traffic jams would easily occur at the city's gateways during the first and last days of the holiday.
The Department of Transport has also requested the City Police to coordinate with functional forces to strengthen patrols, control and handle violations of passenger and cargo transport vehicles; arrange forces to regulate traffic flow at "hot spots" and city gateways such as Tan Son Nhat airport, Mien Tay bus station, Mien Dong bus station, new Mien Dong bus station, western, southwestern and eastern gateways of the city...
