Two players playing abroad (Cong Phuong plays for Yokohama, Japan; Van Toan plays for Seoul E-Land, Korea) shined together to contribute to bringing victory to the Vietnamese team.
Cong Phuong was the one who broke the balance by breaking the offside trap, rushing down to receive Hoang Duc's pass and then making a technical chip to open the score 1-0 for the home team in the 61st minute.
In the 78th minute, Van Toan accelerated past Palestine's defender before passing the ball to Tuan Hai, who easily put the ball into the net, sealing a 2-0 victory for the Vietnamese team.
This result helped coach Philippe Troussier's team extend their winning streak to 3 consecutive matches.
Previously, in a friendly match in June, the Vietnamese team defeated the Hong Kong team (China) and the Syrian team with the same score of 1-0.
These victories will certainly give the Vietnamese team great motivation before entering the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Asia.
The Vietnamese team will begin their journey in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with two matches in November, against the Philippines (November 16) and Iraq (November 21).
However, according to plan, before competing with these two teams, coach Philippe Troussier and his team will have a friendly match with the Uzbekistan team in October.
