Project that satisfies the people

The key traffic projects and works implemented in the past time have received the approval and met the expectations of the people. The newly formed roads will facilitate traffic connections, creating many opportunities to promote economic development. The road project from the center of Ham Thuan Bac district to National Highway 1A (section through Ham Duc commune) which has just started construction is one of such projects.

National Highway 28 through Binh Thuan province is an important foreign route connecting Binh Thuan with Lam Dong province in particular and the Central Highlands in general. Every day, the traffic volume on this route is quite high, while the existing road surface is narrow. Notably, when the North-South Expressway (section through Binh Thuan province) officially came into operation, it was also the time when the traffic volume on National Highway 28 (section from the intersection with Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway to National Highway 1A) entering Ma Lam town via National Highway 28 to return to National Highway 1A and Phan Thiet City increased dramatically. This has caused frequent traffic jams on this route, affecting traffic safety and the lives of people on both sides of the road.

That is why the people here want to invest in the road from the center of Ham Thuan Bac district to National Highway 1A. Because when the road is built, it will meet the needs of transporting goods and traffic of people and tourists; reduce traffic from National Highway 1A to the North-South Expressway via National Highway 28 and vice versa. Along with that, when there is a new road, the people of Ham Duc commune, Ma Lam town and neighboring areas will also benefit when the travel distance from Ma Lam town to Ham Duc commune and neighboring areas is shortened, creating favorable conditions for exploiting land funds on both sides of the road; contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the locality. In response to the people's wishes, at the 16th session (special session), the People's Council of Binh Thuan province, term XI, passed Resolution No. 48 on approving the investment policy of the road project from the center of Ham Thuan Bac district to National Highway 1A (section through Ham Duc commune). The project received high consensus and agreement from local people.

Ms. Hoang Thi Lua, residing in Ma Lam town (Ham Thuan Bac district) said that when she heard about the plan to build a road from the center of Ham Thuan Bac district to National Highway 1A, she and her family were very happy and agreed with the province's plan. She hopes that the road will be completed soon so that people can travel more conveniently. "This is truly a meaningful traffic project, we are looking forward to the road's early completion every day. Our people will benefit a lot, travel and trade will be more convenient, people's lives and economy will improve day by day", Ms. Lua added.

In late March, at the construction site of the road project from the center of Ham Thuan Bac district to National Highway 1A, there were always trucks carrying materials, excavators, rollers... Engineers and workers were mobilized by contractors, divided into many construction teams to urgently carry out the project.

Construction units are focusing on meeting the schedule.

Mr. Nguyen Van Sinh - representative of the construction unit on the route said: Contractors started construction after the Lunar New Year 2025. At this time, the construction atmosphere at the construction site is very urgent and highly focused. When the site is fully handed over, the construction unit will try to work overtime, speed up the progress to ensure the project is completed on schedule.

According to Mr. Le Minh Tien - Director of the Project Management Board of Ham Thuan Bac district, the road from the center of Ham Thuan Bac district to National Highway 1A is one of the key projects of the province, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Binh Thuan province. The road has a length of about 4.6 km, starting at the intersection of Nguyen Tuong and Quang Trung streets, Ma Lam town; ending at the intersection of National Highway 1A at km 1686 + 670, Ham Duc commune, Ham Thuan Bac district; roadbed width 33m, road surface width 18m, median strip 5m wide, sidewalks on each side 5m wide; road surface structure is asphalt concrete, sidewalks are filled with soil, trees are planted on the median strip; lighting is installed on both sides of the sidewalk; investment in drainage and traffic safety systems. The total investment is 265 billion VND, of which the central budget capital for the period 2021 - 2025 is 200 billion VND; Provincial budget capital (reserve capital and excess provincial budget revenue in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025 and transition to the period 2026 - 2030) balances the remaining costs.

Mr. Tien added that the land area used to implement the project is about 17.10 hectares. Currently, the site has been handed over to the construction unit at 90%. According to the plan, the route from the center of Ham Thuan Bac district to National Highway 1A will be completed by the end of December 2026.
