Ha Hoa establishes order in traffic safety corridor

Authorities propagate and remind businesses to ensure traffic safety corridors on the central route of Ha Hoa town.

In recent times, the work of ensuring order in the road traffic safety corridor in the district has encountered difficulties due to the low awareness of compliance with the Traffic Law and State regulations on traffic safety order of a part of the people. There are still cases of building tents, leaving construction materials, firewood, and wood encroaching on the road traffic safety corridor; trading, holding markets on the roadbed, sidewalks... Violations of the road traffic safety corridor directly affect the visibility of drivers participating in traffic, potentially causing loss of traffic safety and aesthetics on both sides of the road.

Implementing legal regulations on management and protection of road traffic safety corridors, the District Traffic Safety Committee in coordination with organizations has directed communes and towns to promote extensive propaganda to each household about the importance of clearing traffic corridors, raising people's awareness in complying with regulations on traffic safety corridors; properly managing traffic safety corridors; arranging signs at intersections with priority roads. At the same time, functional units of the district and localities have organized inspections and handled violations on roads. Currently, communes and towns have built self-managed road models, contributing to protecting the traffic infrastructure system in the area.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Men - Vice Chairman of Ha Hoa Town People's Committee informed: "To ensure order in the traffic safety corridor, the functional forces have coordinated with the locality to organize campaigns to remove illegal billboards and shops; clear trees and bushes within the land reserved for roads. For violations, the functional forces require signing a commitment to end the violation of encroachment on the traffic safety corridor, returning the space to ensure safety for pedestrians and vehicles when traveling. After the campaigns, the town will continue to propagate, inspect and promptly handle re-encroachment to raise awareness of self-compliance with the law on urban order, traffic safety, building a cultural and civilized urban lifestyle in the area".

Along with the road traffic system, the district has the Yen Vien - Lao Cai railway running through it with a length of 29km. In the district, there are 85 road crossings with railways, including 2 guarded level crossings; 8 automatic warning positions, automatic barriers and 75 self-opened paths across the railway (6 positions with guards). The district People's Committee has directed the People's Committees of communes and towns to clear trees that obstruct visibility at all road crossings with railways in the area; coordinate with Vinh Phu Railway Joint Stock Company to ensure the safety of self-opened paths across the railway.

The effective implementation of traffic safety corridor management has facilitated travel and trade, promoting socio-economic development in the district.
