Access to scientific and technological advances
In that spirit, propaganda work is carried out regularly in many diverse forms, popularizing smart agricultural models, ecological and organic agriculture, attracting many rural workers to participate. Thereby helping farmers update new knowledge, grasp science and technology applied to agricultural production, contributing to increasing income and sustainable poverty reduction.
Step by step transferring science and technology to rural workers, the province organized 275 training courses and seminars, conferences, and workshops to share experiences with 8,943 farmers on agricultural production practices associated with traceability, growing area codes, and straw utilization programs associated with circular economy; transferring science and technology on sustainable rice production, organic rice production, safe fruit production, GAP, livestock and poultry farming, and aquaculture in the direction of biosafety, ensuring food hygiene and safety... Through training courses, rural workers can improve the efficiency of agricultural production.
Agricultural vocational training programs and curricula are built to suit the actual needs of localities and are compiled according to regulations. Recently, two new vocational training programs and curricula have been built and developed (artificial reproduction of catfish fry; giant freshwater prawn seed production).
Regarding agricultural vocational training for rural workers, the province organized 76 classes with 2,079 participants (reaching 95.8% of the planned target of 2,170 workers); the total number of farmers completing the course and receiving certificates was 2,069 students. The training fields include: cultivation, animal husbandry, aquaculture. At the same time, a vocational training class for cooperative directors was organized with 34 participants. According to localities, most students after vocational training have created jobs for themselves, applied the knowledge they learned to production work, and gradually changed their farming habits towards approaching scientific and technical advances to increase productivity and income.
In addition to the achieved results, there are still some limitations, when the number of workers participating in vocational training has not reached the planned target of 2,079/2,170 workers (reaching 95.8%). The reason is that currently, the rural labor force with the need to learn a trade is not much, especially poor and near-poor households. Currently, there are not many young workers with the need to learn agricultural trades, because most of them work in industrial parks, big cities...
