On the afternoon of February 19, at District 5 Party Committee, the delegation of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City led by Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Phuoc Loc met and congratulated the Chinese-Vietnamese association clubs on the occasion of the 2024 Lantern Festival.
Attending were leaders of the District Party Committee, District 5 People's Committee and representatives of the management boards of the following guild halls: Quynh Phu (Hai Nam), Nhi Phu, On Lang, Tue Thanh, Nghia An and Sung Chinh.
Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Phuoc Loc expressed his joy and appreciation for the useful activities of the Chinese Vietnamese association halls in districts 5, 6, 8, 11, part of districts 10, 4, Binh Tan, Tan Binh and Binh Chanh district in recent years. The association halls have a cultural and historical value with a very long formation process in Ho Chi Minh City. Talking about the association halls representing the 5 basic language groups of the Chinese Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City, it is clear that the economic, cultural, educational and medical activities have been shaped for a long time, integrating into the development of Ho Chi Minh City. The activities of the association halls carry a spirit of mutual support, mutual affection, mutual love and mutual assistance in the Chinese Vietnamese community.
Not only in the community of language groups, compatriots, and ethnic groups, the activities of the association have actively participated in patriotic emulation movements, building the great national unity bloc, contributing positively to activities of caring for people with meritorious services, policy families, and helping the disadvantaged. When requested by local authorities, the association has mobilized the community to actively participate in social activities in the area, especially economic development, helping each other in business, ensuring a stable family life. The Vietnamese community of Chinese origin has made positive contributions to local construction, protecting and developing Ho Chi Minh City in recent years. The tradition of being attached to the entire Party, the entire army, and the entire people, attached to the Hoa Van work in the cause of fighting to liberate the South and unify the country. There have been many martyrs of Vietnamese origin who sacrificed for this glorious cause; many martyrs have schools named after them such as Tran Khai Nguyen, Tran Boi Co, Huynh Man Dat, Mach Kiem Hung, etc.
Helping each other to progress, especially in the field of encouraging learning and talent, has also been given due attention and investment by the association. Thereby, it has actively contributed to human resources development and social investment for the development of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.
Previously, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Phuoc Loc and the delegation visited and wished the Chinese community a happy new year at 6 guild halls in District 5; received New Year's blessings and lucky money from representatives of the guild halls. Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Phuoc Loc donated all the lucky money from the guild halls to himself to the Fund for taking care of people's lives and encouraging education of the Vietnamese community of Chinese origin in the area.
