Mr. Nguyen Van Nen - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee - congratulated the actors of the Ho Chi Minh City Small Stage Drama Theater after watching the play "Comrade"
This is the third performance of the play "Comrade" (scriptwriter: Le Thu Hanh, director: People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau). This is the script that won the A prize from the 2024 Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association Scriptwriting Camp.
The play will participate in the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Theater Festival, selected to open the festival on the evening of November 13, after the opening night of November 12 (the opening night of the Festival is the experimental play "The Trial" also staged by People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau for the Ho Chi Minh City Drama Theater).
The play "Comrade" is a story about Uncle Ho's soldiers, from wartime to peacetime. The story is a cross-section of the present and the past, in the struggle for national independence and freedom, soldiers in the same unit, with the same aspirations, longing to live in peace, a prosperous and happy life.
When the war was over, the comrades were still close to each other. Whenever they had the chance, they returned to the battlefield together, recalling memories of a fierce and heroic time.
But what was more painful was that they saw the adversity that made their comrades staggered by "sugar-coated bullets" in peacetime. But the next generation, there were children who always looked at their grandfather and father with admiring eyes, determined to live well to remain comrades with their grandfather and father.
A large audience came to see the play "Comrade" at the Ho Chi Minh City Small Stage Drama Theater.
People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau assessed this as a challenging script for both the writer and the actor. Like many previous scripts that helped author Le Thu Hanh win awards, she put a general issue into a specific family, with a liberal and thorny writing style.
Leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and 12 artists of Busan Theater Association (Korea) joined a large audience to watch the play "Comrade" at Ho Chi Minh City Small Stage Theater.
It was this interesting staging technique that helped the artists create a vivid performance for each character. They acted very realistically, without over-the-top propaganda, but gently entered the audience's feelings, without shouting slogans.
The actors reenacted the lives of soldiers, bringing to the audience the team spirit of soldiers fighting for the country and the people.
The play aims at young people, promoting patriotism and enthusiasm to contribute and dedicate to the country.
Not long ago, the program "Artists and Stage" on channel HTV9 discussed very enthusiastically about the play "Comrade" with the participation of three artists: Chanh Truc, Trong Hieu and Quoc Thinh.
Director Lee Jeong Nam - Chairman of Busan Theater Association and director of many Korean theater works highly appreciated the play "Comrade". He said that in November, he and a number of Korean artists from Busan Theater Association with more than 350 actors will come to the city to attend the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Theater Festival - 2024.
