On the morning of December 30, in Hanoi, the General Department of Politics held a conference to review the tasks of 2024. Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army attended and directed the conference. Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Secretary of the Party Committee of the General Department of Politics chaired the conference.

In 2024, the General Department of Politics has implemented and comprehensively completed the set contents, programs and plans, many tasks were completed well, some tasks were completed excellently. Notably, it has advised, directed and guided the synchronous implementation of solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of political education and ideological leadership; promptly informed and oriented the ideology and public opinion for the troops on complex and sensitive issues. Proactively coordinated and actively prepared and organized well the activities to celebrate major holidays of the country and the Army, focusing on the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army, and the 35th Anniversary of the National Defense Day. Emulation and reward work was carried out closely; directed and well organized the Emulation Congress for Victory from the grassroots level to the level directly under the Ministry of National Defense for the period 2019-2024.
Advise and propose many solutions to improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party committees and organizations, and the quality of cadres and Party members. Organize, disseminate, and effectively implement leadership and direction documents for Party congresses at all levels in the Army Party Committee and develop documents to serve the 12th Army Party Congress; complete the summary of Party building work, summarize the implementation of the Law on Officers, develop a draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army in accordance with procedures, and pass it at the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly to ensure quality...

Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet requested that in 2025, the General Department of Politics continue to direct and guide innovation, improve the quality and effectiveness of political education and ideological leadership; promote the core role of the forces in the fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints. Advise and direct the organization of activities to celebrate major holidays and important political events of the Party, the country and the Army; direct and guide the launching of the Emulation Movement for Victory in 2025 and peak emulation periods; organize the 11th Emulation Congress for the entire army in the period of 2020-2025 and develop a plan to participate in the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress. Advise the Central Military Commission to summarize the work of organizing and building the Party; direct the organization of Party congresses at all levels and organize the 12th Army Party Congress successfully, exemplary and typical.
Implement the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army and documents detailing and guiding the implementation of the law; perfecting the command and management staff at all levels to meet the requirements of adjusting the organization and staffing in conjunction with the good implementation of personnel work for Party congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term...
Focus on researching and advising the Government and the Prime Minister to promulgate and amend a number of regimes and policies for the Army and the Army's rear; direct and guide the effective implementation of policies, build strong mass organizations, and successfully complete assigned tasks.

Focus on implementing military, inspection, investigation, and legal work to ensure strictness, quality, safety, and compliance with the law; strictly comply with regulations on combat readiness; maintain and seriously implement the order of regular construction and discipline; promote administrative reform and digital transformation, and strongly apply information technology to professional work. At the same time, synchronously deploy measures to foster and evaluate the substance to improve the capacity and qualifications of cadres and employees; continue to improve the quality of Party work, political work, logistics, technical work, finance, and economic activities to ensure compliance with regulations and well meet the requirements of the task.
At the conference, the General Department of Politics summarized the Emulation Movement for Victory in 2024, launched the Emulation Movement for Victory in 2025 with the theme: "Democracy, solidarity, discipline, creativity, and victory" and the guiding ideology throughout is: Promoting democracy, strengthening solidarity, maintaining discipline, innovating, and excellently completing tasks.
