Within the framework of the opening ceremony of the new school year 2024 - 2025, which was recently held by the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology - PTIT on September 16 in Hanoi, 'PTIT VCC Virtual Convergence Faculty' - an online training collaboration project between the Academy and Chung Ang University (Korea) was inaugurated and officially put into operation.
According to the establishment decision announced at the event, the 'PTIT VCC Virtual Convergence Faculty' is operated by the Virtual Convergence Training Cooperation Board. The PTIT VCC Virtual Convergence Training Cooperation Board has the participation of Vietnamese and Korean experts, with the permanent Head of the Board being Dr. Cao Minh Thang, Vice President of the CDIT Institute of Information and Communications Technology; Professor Jong Jyun Wi from Chung Ang University, Chairman of the Korean Game Association, Chairman of the Korean Future Convergence Content Forum as the Co-Head of the Board.
Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, Director of the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology emphasized: With the establishment and official operation of the 'PTIT VCC Virtual Convergence Faculty', students of the Academy will enjoy many benefits in the coming time, being taught by the best experts, having access to knowledge and the best digital technologies in the fields of games, multimedia and will continue to expand to other fields.
Particularly for the Game Design and Development training program in the field of multimedia technology, 'PTIT VCC Virtual Convergence Faculty' will aim to train excellent students across Vietnam, thereby contributing to improving and globalizing the competitiveness of the Vietnamese game industry.
Students taking courses at VCC will have the opportunity to study and be guided in research by leading professors, professors from major universities around the world, and have access to an international and professional learning environment.
Representing the Virtual Convergence Education Cooperation Committee, Professor Jong Hyun Wi, co-chair of the committee, said that being assigned to the role of co-chair is a great responsibility, and shared: In Korea, universities play a key role in promoting the IT industry. They not only provide professional education but also contribute to building and spreading the ecosystem necessary for the development of IT in Korea.
Professor Jong Hyun Wi also hopes that the combination of experience from Korean universities with the passion of Vietnamese universities will contribute to creating momentum for the development of Vietnamese IT.
“The Virtual Convergence Training Cooperation Department, launched today, will be the center of IT education cooperation between the two universities, contributing to pushing Vietnam’s IT industry forward. The Virtual Convergence Training Cooperation Department will not only provide technical knowledge but also nurture students’ creative thinking and problem-solving ability,” shared Professor Jong Hyun Wi.
According to the plan, after the launch of the 'PTIT VCC Virtual Convergence Faculty', in addition to focusing on building an international game training program, members of the Training Cooperation Board will also discuss to implement teaching some subjects in the form of VCC virtual convergence. It is expected that the organization of training programs and subjects will be implemented by the 'PTIT VCC Virtual Convergence Faculty' in the 2024 - 2025 school year.
The cooperation in establishing and operating the 'PTIT - VCC Virtual Convergence Faculty' model is a content of the cooperation agreement signed by PTIT and Chung Ang University (Korea) last year, with the aim of exploiting the potentials and advantages of the two units.
Then, in a working session between the leaders of the two schools in early August 2024, PTIT and Chung Ang University agreed on the work contents to put PTIT VCC into operation in September.
