Preschool teacher in An Giang repeatedly beat children in class

Tonight (October 15), a source from VietNamNet reporter said that Mr. Phan Van Van - Vice Chairman of Chau Phu District People's Committee, An Giang Province - has directed the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Internal Affairs and the People's Committee of Binh Chanh Commune to verify and clarify the case of a teacher of a kindergarten in the area beating a child right in the classroom.

Previously, on September 30, Binh Chanh Commune Kindergarten received a complaint from a parent whose child was studying there.

In the petition, the parents said, “The teacher beat their child at school and told him not to tell his parents when he got home.” The family requested the school and authorities to extract the camera footage to clarify the incident.

The school then set up a verification team. Through it, Ms. PTNH – the teacher mentioned in the complaint – admitted to hitting the child with her hand.

“During the daily activities, the child did not cooperate with the teacher and often ran and played with friends. During the poetry class, when the child did not recite, I used my hand to hit him. I only used my hand to hit him, so it is not considered abuse. Only when I use a stick to hit him is it abuse,” Ms. H. explained.

According to the school's report, camera footage showed Ms. H. beating the child on September 23. The female teacher then proactively met with the parent and asked to withdraw the complaint three times.

In addition, the verification team also discovered that this female teacher also beat many other children in the class on September 23, 24 and 26.

A male student was beaten up in the middle of class and had to be hospitalized, 8 other students were involved . An 8th grade male student was brutally beaten by a group of classmates using helmets, brooms, etc. in the middle of the classroom. This student was also kicked in the head multiple times by his classmates.
