Quang Nam Provincial leaders received a delegation from Yongin City, South Korea

On behalf of the leaders of Quang Nam province, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan thanked the delegation of Yongin city for taking the time to attend the event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the province's Liberation Day and the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Provincial Party Committee.

Comrade Tran Anh Tuan emphasized that the development of Quang Nam province today, in addition to the province's internal strength, also has the support and assistance of other countries, including Korea. In Quang Nam, the Korean Government has provided ODA capital to implement a number of projects with an aid capital of tens of millions of USD, mainly focusing on the fields of health and education. Typical examples include the Vietnam - Korea Friendship Children's Hospital project (2002), Quang Nam Central General Hospital (2010)...

In addition, Quang Nam also welcomed many foreign direct investors (FDI) from Korea with 59 projects, with a total registered investment capital of more than 928.513 million USD. Typical of these is the curtain fabric factory of Hyosung Quang Nam Company Limited with an investment capital of 410 million USD.

Aid activities of Korean NGOs in Quang Nam province are also maintained and implemented in the fields of health, education, and rural agriculture with a total annual aid capital of more than 500 thousand USD. For the International Lotus Village Organization (ILV), the total value of ILV's aid to Quang Nam province from 2012 to present is about more than 6.6 million USD.

Regarding cooperative relations with Korean localities, Quang Nam province has established friendly cooperative relations with 3 Korean localities, including Yongin city since 2013. In the coming time, he hopes that the two localities will expand cooperation, focusing on the areas that the leaders of the two provinces and cities have agreed on, including: Promoting tourism potential; cooperation in human resource training; cooperation in supporting Yongin enterprises to research and invest in Quang Nam province; cooperation in sending workers from Quang Nam province to work seasonally in Korea.

Mr. Ryu Kwang Yoel - First Vice Mayor of Yongin City thanked the leaders of Quang Nam Province for inviting the delegation to attend the important and meaningful event of the province, and at the same time gave a thoughtful welcome to the delegation members. He highly appreciated the special friendship between Yongin City and Quang Nam Province, and recalled the results of the high-level visit of Yongin City Mayor - Mr. Lee Sang-il to Quang Nam from February 25 to 28, 2025.

Mr. Ryu Kwang Yoel agreed with the opinion of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan and hoped that the leaders of the two provinces and cities would have many talks and sharing to find effective cooperation methods. Mr. Ryu Kwang Yoel also proposed some additional contents that can be studied and cooperated in the fields of science and technology, football, etc.
