At the meeting, comrade Le Thi Kim Dung reported to the working delegation on the situation, results of leadership and direction in implementing measures to prevent, combat and overcome the consequences of Storm No. 3 in the province.
Comrade Le Thi Kim Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, expressed her gratitude to the delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Damage caused by natural disasters in the province killed 5 people; 20,000 houses were affected; over 5,000 households were evacuated from dangerous areas. In addition, many schools and government offices in the province were flooded, affecting the operations of agencies and units; over 9,000 hectares of rice and crops were damaged; many traffic routes were eroded, blocked, damaged... causing a lot of property damage in the province.
Currently, the entire political system of the province is taking action to overcome the consequences caused by Storm No. 3. Those who unfortunately died or were injured have been promptly supported, encouraged, and visited by local Party committees and authorities; provided necessities, ensured people's safety, and overcame the consequences of natural disasters according to the "4 on-site" motto. At the same time, businesses in the province have been mobilized to help with cranes and excavators to clean up the environment; and ensured electricity and water for people after the storm and flood.
The Maritime Corporation Trade Union supports the province in overcoming damage caused by storms and floods.
Speaking at the meeting, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang shared the difficulties and losses of people and property in Tuyen Quang province. He highly appreciated the proactive and decisive spirit of the provincial leaders in leading and directing the prevention and control of natural disasters, thereby minimizing damage, especially in forecasting, practical experience, and promoting the "4 on-site" motto in Tuyen Quang. At the same time, he believed that with the decisive leadership and direction of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Tuyen Quang province, they will unite and overcome difficulties, together with the support of the Central Government, the province will soon rebuild infrastructure, promptly support the affected people, and soon stabilize the lives of the people.
On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee thanked Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang, Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and the Delegation for their sympathy and sharing in the difficulties of the people of Tuyen Quang affected by Storm No. 3. The support of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor is an encouragement that helps the people of Tuyen Quang overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
At the meeting, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor supported 150 million VND for union members and workers in Tuyen Quang province who suffered losses due to storm No. 3 and floods. The Vietnam National Shipping Lines Trade Union supported Tuyen Quang province with 500 million VND.

Previously, the delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor visited and presented gifts to workers of Tuyen Quang Urban Management and Environmental Services Joint Stock Company.
The company mobilized 265 staff and workers, of which 250 were affected by the flood, many of whom have not returned home to clean their houses. The company mobilized 100% of its workforce to participate in environmental sanitation. During the environmental sanitation task, many agencies and businesses also supported workers with necessities and drinking water to complete their tasks well. The company has completed 95% of its task to soon return the city to a green, clean and beautiful state.
