National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue visits and works at Moc Bai International Border Gate

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his hope that in the future, Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone will become a growth pole of Tay Ninh province.

Continuing his working trip to Tay Ninh, on the afternoon of January 3, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the Central Working Delegation visited the functional forces stationed at Moc Bai International Border Gate. Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Tay Ninh Province Nguyen Thanh Tam also attended.

In the atmosphere of the first days of the new year 2024, the National Assembly Chairman sent his warmest feelings, warm greetings and best wishes to the functional forces at Moc Bai International Border Gate (including 9 forces: Border Gate Management Board; Immigration Police Station; Border Gate Police Station; Border Guard Station; Border Guard Station; Customs Sub-Department; Animal Quarantine Station; Plant Quarantine Station and Medical Station).

Representatives of the border management and protection forces reported on various aspects of work and gave opinions. The National Assembly Chairman congratulated the joint achievements of the interdisciplinary forces in Moc Bai area, which contributed to the overall achievements of Tay Ninh province.

Tay Ninh is a border province, sharing a land border with three provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia, with three international border gates (Moc Bai, Xa Mat and Tan Nam), three main border gates, 11 secondary border gates and many trails and openings. The Party Committee, government and people of Tay Ninh have fulfilled their political tasks well, together with the border provinces of Cambodia, maintaining a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and mutually developed border.

The National Assembly Chairman emphasized that Vietnam and Cambodia have completed 84% of the border demarcation and marker planting along the entire route, and are making efforts to demarcate the remaining 16%. The functional forces at Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone continue to do a good job of border protection and control, coordinating with other sectors in performing common tasks; facilitating trade of goods, especially the Border Guard force, together with border guards, has continued to take care of and well implement the program "Spring Border Guard warms the hearts of the villagers", especially as the upcoming Tet Giap Thin 2024.

Located in Ben Cau district, Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone was established in 1998, with special advantages because it is located on the Trans-Asia Highway. Moc Bai Border Gate is the largest international road border gate in the South, on the Vietnam - Cambodia land border, the gateway to the Southern Key Economic Zone, playing an important role in building and developing an open economy, becoming an international trade center, on the Trans-Asia corridor axis of Ho Chi Minh City in the Mekong sub-region.

The planning of Tay Ninh province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, has just been approved by the Prime Minister, in which the planning of Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone is adjusted with a new vision following the industrial - urban - service model, green and sustainable development, creating competitive advantages to strongly attract domestic and foreign investment. The National Assembly Chairman said that in the immediate future, the policy of building a Project to realize this vision has been agreed upon; at the same time, he expressed his hope that in the future this place will become a growth pole of Tay Ninh province.

The National Assembly Chairman emphasized the role of Tay Ninh in connecting the two expressways Moc Bai-Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Penh-Bavet (Cambodia); together with other inter-regional connections to form a development network, in the future it will contribute to the sustainable and more fundamental development of Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone.

The National Assembly Chairman said that in addition to the cooperation mechanism between the heads of the three Parties and three Governments, the first Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) National Assembly Summit was a great success, becoming an important milestone, opening a new page in cooperation between the three legislative bodies, completing the "three peaks of the triangle" of the CLV cooperation mechanism.

Believing that in order to promote cooperation with Cambodia, in addition to strengthening political trust and friendship, economic and trade development is very important, the National Assembly Chairman hopes that functional forces in border areas will focus on creating the most favorable conditions for trade of goods between the two countries.

According to the National Assembly Chairman, in addition to improving capacity and qualifications, applying information technology to develop border gates, digital platforms are an inevitable trend. The Central Steering Committee has been directing to continue simplifying and reviewing procedures to facilitate customs clearance of goods, creating favorable conditions for people as well as means and goods to exchange and trade with each other; "open but strict", both creating conditions for trade but preventing and combating smuggling and trade fraud.

Vietnamese forces and their Cambodian counterparts work together to build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and mutually developed Vietnam-Cambodia border. The prevention and combat of cross-border crimes is very important.

Emphasizing the need for functional forces to strengthen administrative procedure reform, the National Assembly Chairman requested that each functional force in the border area must be strong, along with strengthening inter-sectoral coordination between Border Guard, Police, Customs and other forces in specialized inspections on control, doing a good job of quarantine of plants and animals across the border...

On the same afternoon, in Ben Cau district, the National Assembly Chairman and the delegation attended the program of Solidarity between the army and people to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Border Guard's Traditional Day (March 3, 1959 - March 3, 2024); presented gifts to 100 poor and disadvantaged households in the border area; visited and listened to the introduction of the display of specialties and agricultural products of Tay Ninh province and visited the "Zero-VND Market" with the people of the border.
