With the determination to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses by May 2025, localities in Ha Tinh simultaneously started construction, urged and supported people to build and repair houses.
On March 26, leaders of Ha Tinh province attended the groundbreaking ceremony, inauguration and inspection of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Huong Khe, Huong Son, Cam Xuyen and Ky Anh districts.
In Huong Khe district, Ha Tinh Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duy Lam and his delegation attended the inauguration ceremony of a housing project for Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh's family (village 5, Ha Linh commune). Ms. Thanh is a poor household, living alone in a dilapidated, seriously degraded house.
With the support from the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Ms. Thanh has completed the construction of a solid house with an area of about 50 square meters; in addition to the support of 70 million VND, the local government and relatives have contributed additional labor and funds. The total construction value of the new house is more than 150 million VND.
Next, the delegation attended the groundbreaking ceremony for a house for Mr. Nguyen Van Lap in Nam Trung village, Dien My commune. Mr. Nguyen Van Lap is a poor household and lives alone in a dilapidated house that his parents gave him.
The entire Huong Khe district has 291 temporary, dilapidated houses that need to be rebuilt or repaired. To date, the locality has started construction on 204 houses, and 12 have been completed.
Huong Son district has 192 houses for poor and near-poor households approved for support; of which 141 are newly built, 51 are upgraded and repaired. As of March 25, 2025, 188 houses have started construction, of which 123 have completed the foundation; 47 houses have been completed and put into use.
In the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households, Huong Son has so far mobilized socialized money and materials worth 976 million VND; mobilized more than 3,300 working days.
Ha Tinh Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duy Lam hopes that families will continue to strive to overcome difficulties and improve their lives. At the same time, he highly appreciates the efforts of localities in implementing the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses; localities have promptly mobilized social resources, mobilized working days and the participation of the whole society to effectively implement.
At the same time, Standing Deputy Secretary of Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee Tran The Dung and the working delegation attended the groundbreaking ceremony, inauguration and inspected the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Cam Xuyen and Ky Anh districts.
In Cam Xuyen district, Ha Tinh leaders and the delegation attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a house for the family of Mrs. Tran Thi Hoa (Cam Nhuong commune), a poor household living in a dilapidated house. The new house has an area of 80m2, with an estimated construction cost of 350 million VND; of which 70 million VND is supported by the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses and support from family and relatives.
Next, the delegation attended the inauguration ceremony of a house for Mr. Ton Duc Thang (Cam Nhuong commune). According to the plan, Cam Xuyen district has 124 houses that need to be newly built and 150 houses that need to be repaired (162 houses have been started; 20 houses have been completed and put into use). The total support budget is over 13 billion VND, of which the provincial support budget is over 10 billion VND, the district mobilizes more than 3 billion VND from social resources.
In Ky Anh district, Standing Deputy Secretary of Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee Tran The Dung and the delegation attended the groundbreaking ceremony of 30m2 houses for the family of Ms. Hoang Thi Thang (Ky Xuan commune), a poor household with seriously degraded houses, and the family of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Cuu (Ky Tien commune), a poor household with degraded houses, a seriously ill wife, and children with economic difficulties.
Mr. Ho Huy Thanh - Secretary of Ky Anh District Party Committee said, implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Ky Anh district has proactively prepared conditions in terms of resources and human resources, assigned localities and units to monitor and urge the construction and repair of houses for the subjects, with the goal of completion before May 19.
Up to now, in the district, there are 181 poor and near-poor households eligible to build new or repair houses with a financial support of 11.23 billion VND (78 houses have been started, 9 houses have been completed). In addition, there are 167 disadvantaged households that also need support (119 households requesting new construction, 48 households requesting repairs).
In addition to the funding support from the program, the district has called for additional socialized resources; developed a detailed plan to support households in terms of funding, human resources, and working days; and resolved land-related issues so that households in difficult circumstances can soon live in new, safe homes.
